“disappointing to say the least, some TLC inside and customer care needs work!!”
Reviewed 10 December 2011

i booked to stay here for 1 night and was pacifically told on the phone it was gonna be £55 with breakfast, however when i went to book in i was told it was gonna be £70.
I questioned this and was apologised too and told that the father of the family shouldnt have answered the phone as he had sadly recently had a stroke.
As much as i sympathise with the family i feel you should stick with the mis-errored price and not change it(customer care??)
Theres plenty of parking and the inside is ok with a slightly dis-illusioned staff/family member welcome awaiting.
The room was ensuite but very tacky and not the freshest of smelling,we were also greeted by a turd in the loo,so a obvious last minute check for our care and comfort wouldve been appreciated.
If you can put up with making your own parking arrangements, then i would avoid this place, its abandoned, tacky, smelly and ran by some people who havent got a clue.
One of the worse i`ve stayed in..avoid!!!

Room Tip: dont book one

The place is a basic guest house, not licensed for sale of alcohol. The rooms were of a good size and the bathroom was well fitted with all you'd expect. TV and tea making in all rooms. If you want to go very cheap and basic they have rooms with no en-suite. It is centrally located with Norwich city centre 10 minutes walk and Carrow Road (Norwich City football ground) five minutes walk. Breakfasts are the type to set you up for most of the day. All cooked freshly, of good quality and plenty of it. Ample car parking.

Reviewed 6 February 2011

I stayed at Tudor House for four nights with my husband and young son in August 2010.
The accommodation is an over extended Victorian house with most of its original features removed. The rest of the property is a work in progress, although it looked rather abandoned with only the outer shell built in places.
The corridor on which our room was located smelt extremely damp, which made me feel very sick every time I entered the corridor. The en-suite bathroom also smelt extremely damp.
Upon arrival I discovered that the bathroom did not appear to have been cleaned and there was no soap available in the room.
On the second day the room had been tidied and a bottle of washing up liquid (not ours) left on the wash basin, but the bathroom had still not been cleaned.
We arrived on the Saturday afternoon and the room was not tidied on the Sunday or Bank Holiday Monday, plus the used towels had not been replaced. We had to call the proprietor late in the evening who explained that the rooms are not attended to at weekends. She then quite happily supplied clean towels upon our request.
Breakfast was substantial although the bacon was tough and the sausages I would guess had a very low meat content. The breakfast room was shared by the family of the proprietor, who sat and discussed there private business in earshot of all the guests - including their differences, at one time heated. On two of the four days there was some confusion with our breakfast order. The pot of tea had been forgotten as well as the toast. When we tried to put this right we found that the proprietor had popped out for ten minutes leaving everyone in the breakfast room unattended.
There was free wi-fi available to all guests, providing that you were sat close to the router which was in the conservatory, close to reception.
There was plenty of parking space for guests with their own vehicle.
The railway station is a ten minute walk away and the city centre a 10 minute bus journey.
The family that owned the hotel were quite helpful and did everything with the best of intention, but with a rather laid back attitude which meant that standards were not met.
During the third day of our stay my husband was approached by a prostitute on Lower Clarence Road. He was cycling along the road with our young son at the time.
I would definitely not stay at the Tudor house again.
