“Warm welcome, tasty tapas dishes and friendly attentive service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 February 2014

A warm welcome, tasty food and friendly service. Actually called The Woolpack and pink colour now and definitely open. Open fire comfy seating and relaxed atmosphere with additional seated table area to eat. A really nice experience and very tasty tapas dishes. We had 10 different dishes and all were fabulous. Will visit again soon.

“tapas”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2014

The Woolie is not in fact closed. It re-opened a week before we visited in February 2014. There is an open fire with a comfy seating area by the bar and another area designated for eating.
It was Sunday evening and a little quiet but I would imagine there would be a nice atmosphere when a little busier. Food is served as 'tapas'. We were a party of three and had quite a good selection and with one drink each our bill was just over forty pounds, which I felt was a fair price for what we'd had. However, before six o'clock food is 'two for one'-an excellent offer which we were unable to take advantage of as we were coming home.
My son is at NUA and intends to go there again with his friends.
Friendly staff and a nice place to hang out. It may well get missed as it is a little off the beaten track but I hope that word of mouth brings people to The Woolie.

“Revamped now Tapas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2014

Delicious selection, very tasty....recommend Pork belly with apple, salt cod fritters and falafel. Modern decor recently updated from standard pub, well worth a visit especially daytimes when they are currently offering a two for one deal to promote it.

“Very average Sunday lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 January 2012

Had Sunday lunch here. I decided to have the roast chicken. It was very average. Cheap chicken brest with potatoes, some veg and yorkshire pud. Dessert which was brownie with ice cream was disappointing. The brownie was dry and the ice cream was icy almost as if it had been defrosted a few times.

However the staff were very friendly and there is a varied selection of draught beers on offer and they also have sky sports.
