Very close to the train station, you literally just walk across the road.
Even if it is too early to check in, they are happy to store your cases in a secure room until you return.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming.
The rooms are roomy, comfortable and clean.

Stayed at this Premier Inn for a break to visit friends. Having had a bad experience at one of the Ipswich branches when drunken contractors were knocking at my door at 4am I had contacted the Hotel before I went and having explained my reason, asked for a quiet room. Receptionist (Ivana) was very nice and allocated me a room on the top floor overlooking the garden/river.
On arrival I was told if I was unhappy they had options to offer me. Needless to say I was very happy with my room, with a balcony and overlooking the river. I was not disturbed during my stay.
Overall, excellent service from all of the very friendly staff.

Stayed here for one night. This hotel has what you need for a short stay. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are above average and are fairly new.
The hotel is situated two minutes from the train station and very close to all the nightlife in Norwich.
The reception is service minded and effective.
Don't expect to be surprised by anything, except for the price. I paid £28 for a room for one night!

The Nelson Premier Inn is very conveniently situated just across the road, and the river, from the railway station. We found the hotel to be clean, comfortable and well staffed. All the staff were very pleasant and friendly, both in the hotel and in the adjoining restaurant. Norwich is a an interesting city visit and the Nelson is conveniently situated just a short walk from the main attractions and the shopping centre.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front of the hotel offer the better views but are perhaps rather nosier than those...

I am a lone female business traveller. I arrived in a hire car from Stansted airport after midnight. The carpark was difficult to find. Once I had parked, the adjacent hotel entrance was locked, with a notice saying guests had to go round to the restaurant entrance on the other side of the building. I had heavy cases and I was very tired. I had no help with my cases and there were many stairs. When I got there the desk clerk said he could not let me in as it was a locked fire-door and I would have to go all the way back to the original entrance. He directed me through a dark and muddy garden. It was after midnight and I was a lone female. The sign on the door had been incorrectly placed. Once I had got to the desk the man apologised, but then said "it was not his fault because he had not placed the sign". I do not care whose fault it was. It was very bad customer service and he was representing the company so regardeless of who had placed the sign, it was his responsibility to deal with it. I then asked if I could get a sandwich and a drink, as I had been travelling since 5pm without refreshments. He said that the restaurant was closed and if I wanted anything to eat I should go into the high street and find a takeaway. If they can't provide any food at all after 11pm then perhaps a sandwich vending machine might be a good idea.

The desk staff in the morning were as helpful as could be, and very friendly.

The breakfast buffet was OK (I didn't much care for their 'NEW' hash-browns (adverised on the bedside table, to add insult to injury), but there was a reasonable selection and the hot food was reasonably fresh.

The room was clean, but the toilet contained evidence of a previous occupant, which was not very nice.

Room Tip: Lower room numbers seem nearer the lobby and stairs. Higher are at the end of the corridor but neare...
