Stayed at the Premier Inn Nelson City Centre for one night before visiting a friend. Very good value at £29 early saver deal, reasonably easy to find. Comfy bed, felt safe, nice brekkie. Def stay again

My friend and I wanted a reasonably priced quiet comfortable twin room for the final night of our travels around East Anglia. The Norwich Nelson City Centre Premier Inn was perfectly located on the banks of the River Wensum and just over the river from the station. Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet. An added bonus was that we didn't have to check out until 12, which meant we had time to go out for a final mid-morning coffee before heading for the station.

Arrived at 2pm so had best choice of available rooms! View over river and station. Probably less than 5 mins walk to station and Riverside shops/restaurants, 10 min into centre of town. Car park small but sufficient out of season, may struggle when events are on. Room can be made warmer but not cooler and window barely opens (but were on 3rd floor). Bed comfortable as usually is with Premier and huge bathroom, glad to see a bath as can struggle using a shower. Towel quantity on daily basis did vary, had one larger and one smaller on 2 days and 2 larger ones on others. Lift tiny, 2 adults and our small cases filled it!

This hotel is brilliantly located with everything you need. It's clean and we'll maintained. Staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant and bar were great too. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Considering it's a city centre location, noise was limited and we had a good night sleep.

I arrived at the hotel at about 8pm, and was greeted by a welcoming woman behind reception, and as it was my first stay at a premier inn she advised me of the locations of things within the hotel.

I was directed to my room which was on the 3rd floor and overlooked a car park (not the best view ever, but it did mean a good nights sleep) was spacious and well laid out with plenty of storage, essential for the 3 hefty bags I was carrying.

The bed, a double or possibly bigger I'm no expert on beds - but there was definitely room for me, as I'm 6 feet tall! It was a wall mounted flat screen TV fitted with free view and also options to plug-in devices such as PlayStation etc, tea and coffee facilities are provided and all the amenities such as irons and ironing boards are available from reception, which is manned round-the-clock. All rooms have no opening windows however are fitted with air conditioning which I have no problem sleeping through as it was on overnight.

The bathroom was immaculate as I entered, there was a supply of hand soap in a pump style bottle, there was also some shower gel in the bath/shower which is ideal if you forgotten your own supplies, which I had!

Upon checking out I was met by friendly member of staff behind reception, who asked if I had slept well.

The close proximity to the rail station meant that I was able to stay in the hotel up to 10 minutes before my train was due to depart - bonus!

Firstly, we managed to check in at 12.00pm, which is great when you've been travelling - you don't want to have to stash your bags and wait. The room was spotless, pillows great, bed very comfortable, flat screen tv - view wasn't great, but we could see the river at the side.
Considering there was a football match on that day, the staff coped really well - no problems, maybe a bit of a wait at dinner, but considering how busy they were, perfectly fine.
All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. They do seem to try hard to make your stay enjoyable.

Room Tip: See if you can get a room that overlooks the river....
