“Lovely little museum”

Strangers' Hall Museum

This is one of Norwich's oldest buildings and full of history. Lots of rooms to walk around showing objects and tapestries of the Tudor and Stuart times. Also a room full of historic toys which my children find fascinating.
At Christmas time they hold special events with costumed people, activites and puppet shows. There is also a lovely garden.
Cheaper entry than most places and worth a visit.

This museum is a gem, spanning centuries of daily life for generations of Dutch families who came over here to revitalise the textile industry and escape persecution in Europe. We only had an hour in which to see everything, but we managed to do so, even seeing the delightful knot garden in the courtyard.

This is a litle basic as museums go but for the money worth a look in. It's a good place for finding out the history of Norwich but won't take more than thirty minuites to walk round. It's a shame as it could be a fab place, I suspect it lacks money for revamping. Anyway if you like history and want a brief lesson. This is worth a peak, the enrty doesn't cost much.

The whole museum is arranged to give you a good view of the domestic life thro' the ages. We (at 70) like it and it enthralled the 10 year old grandchild.
