This wasn't our first visit and to be honest we've never been ever so impressed but we needed to eat and were close by so we popped in.
As usual, the restaurant was completely empty (not a good sign for a Saturday teatime). The food was it's usual average fare (although we ordered large fish and there genuinely was plenty of it) and the service, while friendly was slow and a little half hearted.
The bill for two including a (soft) drink each was £23 and we only had the one course so this really does not represent good value for money.
They do a shopper special (from recollection this is from about 1200-1430 and is around £5.50 a head but do check) and this is probably worth while as then you may feel that you got value for money, although I would imagine the food will still be a little "meh"
You'll see from my other reviews that I am not difficult to please. This restaurant genuinely is just an example of over priced averageness and there are far better fish and chips at far better prices out there.
