Visited on the off chance as my wife collects handmade jugs from our various holidays. Great chance to see a pottery and some of the excellent creations of Malcolm the potter - who we got three jugs from! Reccomend looking at the website for an idea of what is available. The crafted windmill and lighthouse with moving parts were amazing.

Thank John S

Perchance we decided to visit Sutton Staithe on our recent family boating holiday on the Norfolk Broads when my wife noticed that there was a pottery studio in the town, and as she had made some of her own pottery in the past she suggested that we pay Sutton Pottery a visit.
After mooring our boat we set off in search of the pottery, fortunately we found a few signposts that guided us in the right direction and after a 10 minute walk we arrived at Malcolm Flatmans' studio on the outskirt of the town.
Unfortunately the pottery throwing lessons were not available at this time. However Malcolm made up for this by giving us a detailed breakdown on the studio and the pottery manufacturing processes.
Visitors are welcome to browse through the gallery area, where a large range of unique finished pottery of consistent styles and colours is on display. We saw an assortment of practical, affordable tableware and kitchenware in a wide variety of glaze colours. Also produced are a multitude of more decorative pieces, including house name plates and other commissions, and some distinctive lamps.
We bought a few items of pottery that were reasonably priced and understand that Malcom would make specials that can be ordered by post, phone or on-line.

A really good stock of pots which you can use at home and enjoy. It's good to be able to take to the potter and see the processes used.
