This pub is a wonderful place, the staff are very pleasant and the food was excellent value for money. Will advise everyone to use this pub as it is the cheapest on the broads that we found. Brilliant time had by all.

we picked up a boat from Brundall boat yard and stopped here for a drink and a meal as it was handy and had been mentioned by the boat yard. For a Saturday night, there were very fw people in this pub which should have been a warning sign. The place felt rather unloved, in need of refurbishment and was grubby. The beer was passable, wine came from an individual 125ml bottle and soft drinks were from bottles also. The food was very ordinary, but would not go back again as the place was grubby and not at all comfortable. Staff were pretty poor, although pleasant enough. A much better alternative would be the New Inn on Rockland Broad - recently refurbished - much better (moorings outside, or can be walked from Beauchamps - 2 miles).

How can such a lovely setting be so unwelcoming and run down? We were passing this pub on the last day of our broads boating holiday, it looked OK from the river so we moored up. The pub is run down, does not look clean and appears to have a what looks like a "shanty settlement" a few small boats being used as temporary housing. All in all most out of keeping with the other pubs on the broads and not one you would wish to spend any time at

After a quick look round and some unpleasantries with a "resident" of the shanty over our use of the water hose to refill our boat, we decided to leave sharpish..

this pub was at one time a smashing pub now it wants smashing up. My family and I when in hoping for a meal I ask if the restaurant was open bar staff said no it`s all set up for tomorrow I said all the tables in the bar area were to small she said push two together I then pointed out to her that the table are round which don`t fit together she then shrugged her shoulder and carried on with what she was doing. I had a quick look a the menu ok if you like pies very little else on the menu out there is a play area for kids swings slides etc however there is DOG MESS all over the place there`s a bouncy castle but it`s filthy this pub could be a gold mine if run properly it was once a wonderful oub but now................

We walked from The New Inn at Claxton to The Beauchamp Arms situated on a bend of the River Yare. From the outside the pub looks inviting, with its stunning location, mooring for several boats and riverside benches. But that is where the deception ends. The inside of the pub is tired and the service was under staffed and poor considering that we visited on a Bank Holiday weekend. The food selection was comparable to a road side kebab van – and the quality of the food that we received endorsed our low expectation. It is such a shame that a pub situated in a prime location on the River Yare is so disappointing. Do the walk – it is so lovely – but do not expect a hospitable destination. If cruising the Yare do not stop here despite the idyllic location. On a positive note the Wherry beer was excellent!

We walked back to the New Inn at Claxton – and wondered why we bothered to visit the Beauchamp Arms at all. The New Inn service, amenities, décor and from what we saw of the food was 5* compared to the Beauchamp Arms.
