I had high hopes for this cafe after reading other reviews but it didn't quite live up to expectations. We sat on the first floor - nice decor and pretty flowers in the window boxes.
There are several good signs, such as sausage rolls and pies made on the premises. The home-made cakes are good and there are nice loose leaf teas.
Savoury items were a little more mixed. "Poshage roll" (vegetarian sausage roll) was enjoyable though not as substantial as I'd hoped. We also had a chicken baguette - my friend found the bread a little tough and, he thought, not as fresh as it might be - and a toasted ciabatta sandwich which was about half the size of the baguette so not great value for £5.60. Although advertised as toasted, slightly warmed would have been more accurate and the cheese inside wasn't melted. However the coleslaw served alongside was nice (it came with some lettuce leaves too).
They also serve breakfasts, afternoon teas and soup. It would have been nice to see a vegetarian soup option.
