“Excellent budget hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 January 2014

We stay here several times a year. It is always well maintained and the staff are friendly. It is just over the road from the Park & Ride into Norwich city centre, about 25 mins away. The rooms are a good size for families. Close to busy A47 but we have never experienced excessive road noise. Opposite Norfolk showground entrance. A good location for getting out and about. The restaurant menu is good and the food nice. Breakfast is good and the deal with kids eat free makes it excellent value for money. We will stay here again and would definitely recommend it.

We stayed at the Showground whilst visiting relatives ahead of Christmas and had a pleasant, laid-back, stay.

The room was very spacious, with lots of floor space around the bed, desk and sofa and a full-size bath in the bathroom.

The bed was very comfortable, the room decently lit and the fixtures and fittings in good condition. The bathroom was large and clean, but could have been a little better-lit.

My regular bugbear was accentuated by the size of the room; the nearest socket was approx 4 metres from the bedside table. Modern hotels need bedside sockets – every traveller has at least one of a smartphone, an e-reader or a tablet now.

Public areas were clean and well-lit, the staff were friendly, and the food at the attached pub-restaurant was decent, and well-priced, and there is a large free car park on site.

The hotel is approx 15-20 minutes drive from the City Centre, and there isn’t really much in the local area, so it isn’t a great destination, but as a stop-over when spending most of the time with family, it worked well.

Just back from attending a family party for which we stayed overnight in this hotel. Good comfortable bed in a spacious room. Met the usual Premier Inn standard, basic but clean. Rooms nice and quiet considering alongside 2 main roads. Staff very friendly and helpful. We did not have breakfast in the Table Table restaurant alongside but did eat at lunchtime when we arrived. Food good at a reasonable price and smiley staff.

Located on main junction of A47 with bus stops immediately outside with buses (X1 service) into Norwich every 30 minutes, which we used on the afternoon of our arrival to see the city centre with the xmas lights etc. Very impressed.

If you can avoid the RIP OFF TAXIS. The party was in a nearby village and different companies charged us for their supposed mileage from Norwich centre (additional 8 miles) to the hotel and on to our destination, a total of 15 miles for a 7 mile journey.

We would use the Hotel again but use the car or buses for our journeys.

Room Tip: First floor facing the carpark and the showground at the restaurant end of the building.

Rooms are basic but comfortable. Self-service at breakfast was fine, but that at dinner was hopeless; we waited 40mins. for a bowl of soup and a sandwich. Complained to manager and cost of meal cancelled.

I stayed here as it was closest to the Norfolk Showground, where I was attending an event. Considering this is a big chain hotel, which I normally avoid, I was pleasantly surprised how nice the hotel was. Nice environment, good bed, friendly/helpful staff. Would stay again.

Got the room for £25 for the night, fab price as was for a family of 4. Very comfortable and roomy. It was very clean and was lovely to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Would defiantly stay again.

ONE TOWEL for two people sharing is APPALLING. In addition, terrible parking and a ridiculously expensive breakfast at ~£18 for two people! We selected the Premier Inn based on it being the closest to an event we were attending and the advertising which promises "everything is premier but the price". This is misleading and in fact completely untrue. How is £18 for breakfast for two NOT a premier price? How is ONE TOWEL between two people 'premier?', how is a small car park with barely enough spaces 'premier' and how is £94 for one night NOT a premier price? There were other hotels - mostly at a better rate, including chains like the Best Western and some other independents within a few miles radius and we regret not selecting one of those.
