I spent two nights at this premier inn, very close to the airport, clean and tidy, not bad for a premier inn

I stayed here with my 2 year old son, 2 sisters and my mum during a 2 night / 2 day getaway from our home in Essex to do a bit of xmas shopping in Norwich. The staff were SOOOO friendly, helpful and polite. The rooms were immaculate, modern and we even had adjoining rooms which was handy. The restaurant next door was ok - some staff a bit stuck up but that's more about them.

Would definitely stay here again - great value for money.

We stayed here as we where going to a party in Horsford and it was a bargain at £43.
It was a nice clean room and a comfy bed.The windows actually opened too which was a bonus.
The only negative was the bathroom as it still has the bath/shower combo which you dont get in newer inns.

Well ive stayed at the hotel and eaten at the pub next door several times.

The hotel is not to bad for a night or two stay while going offshore the next day, however if you are going to be leaving early and get the breakfast to your room its not that great at all. The rooms i have stayed in are simple but much better than the rooms in the holiday inn right round the corner.

The food is so so next door, not bad but now way great. there was a lot of dirty and sticky bar while i was there and took a long time to get served when the place was quite quiet, The staff were ok,i was in and i asked for a new glass because of lip stick on glasses, esp wine glasses which i thought would have been cleaned properly like people do in there own house and other bars. No one likes a dirty glass, esp a wine glass!!

Would stay at the hotel again and would eat there again but not for more than one night because of the dirt, sticky bars and bad service.

Arrived in Norwich by train and there were lots of taxis to get me to the hotel. It was £11 or £12. I got all the information about how to get to the airport during check in (it's only a five minute walk) and went to my room. Another good example of a good Premier Inn - all clean, presentable and comfortable... and another bargain at £29 for the night, as I booked several months in advance.

I have been using the Premier Inn at Norwich Airport for around 5 years on and off, and last stayed here in January 2012.

The rooms and beds are good, if starting to look a little tired e.g. still having a small portable TV rather than a larger flat screen. In my experience the level of cleaning is also good.

No free WiFi or air conditioning, which in 2012 is unacceptable.

The real let down is the restaurant (The Oaks) next door.

During my stay I found it to be dirty with most surfaces being sticky, with mixed attitudes to customer service from the young bar staff. At one point I was served a glass of wine where the glass was plastered in woman’s lipstick. When I pointed this out I was told "Sorry, this happens a lot"

Service at the bar can be a little slow, with some of the younger staff chatting to each other whilst customers are waiting. Some of the drinks glasses are dirty with many being rejected by customers.

Most of the food is deep fat fried, and after 2 nights there I couldn't face choosing from the menu just in case I had a heart attack!. This also results in your clothes stinking of fried food.

In the mornings breakfast is now a self service affair, with most of the food being only luke warm due to it sitting around. No papers are available for customers to read in the morning as was the case in the past.

I did speak to a couple of the staff who I have known for a few years and was told that the chain is trying to save money. A double edged sword really as if regular customers (like myself) start staying elsewhere due to cost cutting measures then the plan has backfired.

Such a shame that the hotel and restaurant have gone this way as it used to be a good, fun place to stay. I think that next time I’m in Norwich I’ll look at some options other than the Premier Inn.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the rear of the hotel and away from the McDonalds Drive Thru
