Maureen on reception was so wonderfully helpful better than most in 4 & 5 star hotels because she genially really cared and wanted to help.
Comfy beds good shower and spotlessly clean bathrooms and linen.

Stayed here for two nights. Didn't have high expectations, it's a Premier Inn after all! The check in staff were exceptional. We had a room on second floor at the end of the corridor which was great as we didn't have people walking past the door. The room was fine, bathroom flooring was bumpy, like the lino had lifted but not really a huge issue. There was no toilet brush in the bathroom, which I thought was bad, maybe something that they need to rethink! Tea and coffee facilities and plenty of room for two people to hang and store clothing for a long weekend, to be honest we weren't in the room that much. We had the window open and the first night (Thurs) there was no noise at all. Friday night I was woken up by a group of lads walking home after what sounded like a good night, but I guess that's to be expected staying at a hotel in the middle of a city. We didn't eat in the restaurant, didn't fancy it, but it was busy enough at breakfast. The only downside was parking, it's free to park in St Andrews car park when you're staying at the hotel, you just hand over the ticket to the reception staff and they void all charges. What they didn't tell us was that we still had to validate the ticket at the payment machine in the car park before driving out. This meant we caused a queue at the barrier as we had to go back and do this! Overall a decent place to crash in the city.

For a hotel stay where what you want is a good clean room, friendly and professional staff and a modest price, this branch of Premier Inn is hard to beat. Its location is excellent, too, five minute from the historic centre and plenty of good restaurants. I have stayed several other places in Norwich but not since discovering Duke Street.

My husband and I stayed at the Premier Inn Duke St recently on our way to Cromer. As we had not visited Norwich before we decided to stay there overnight to spend some time exploring this lovely city. We were very impressed. The hotel staff were welcoming, friendly and courteous. I like the jug of iced water in the reception area for guests to help themselves. Nice touch. The breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice both hot and cold. Even the cook spoke to us when she came out to replenish stocks. We had dinner in the restaurant on the Friday night and both enjoyed our meal. It was an added bonus that our car parking charges were met by the hotel. A nice surprise and very conveniently situated for the hotel..

Room Tip: A river view is nice.

Lovely staff, comfortable, clean room. Excellent location and parking was very easy in the multi storey car park a very short walk from the hotel. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was very good. It was presented well which gets a big plus from me! Excellent service all round.
