I came here to visit Norwich and some old freinds the hotel was very comfortable and clean and was very welcoming, the bed was very comfy and i had 3 great nights sleep, the only annoying thing was the no parking directly on site and was a little way up the road in a multi story but this was not a major issue and should not discourage you from staying here, Ideally situated for access to the city.

As usual you know what you get when you book a Premier Inn, a good night's sleep and a massive, comfortable bed. When you add in the size of the rooms and the décor, bathroom, etc it all adds up to a decent package.

It was unfortunate that due to the unusually hot summer we have been having that the room was rather warm, despite the air conditioning which we couldn't keep on during the night due to the noise.

The location is great with a short 5 minute walk into the centre of town.

The car park is the multi storey 100 yards away, but it is one of the most well lit and safe car parks going. There was always someone on duty in the office as you entered and left. Best of all it's free to Premier Inn customers.

Booked air- con rooms in Jan 2014 for 24 & 25 July.

NO WARNING before or when we arrived that AIR- CON WAS SWITCHED OFF PERMANENTLY IN THE ROOMS, awaiting total refurbishment with no date in sight for completion.

Window opened 50mm only at bottom with locked restrictors and warning notice not to attempt to open any further

Fans only to blow existing hot air around the room.

ONLY THE LOBBY HAS AIR-CON SWITCHED ON.

Guests who pre-booked should have been advised that air-con had been de-commissioned and offered alternative accommodation at other Premier Inns , near-by.

Avoid at all costs unless you like sleeping in a Sauna!

Room Tip: Avoid at all costs until the air-con has been refurbished, the whole hotel is pokey and stuffy

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay at our hotel. At Premier Inn we always strive to provide customers with a comfortable stay, and I apologise that on this occasion your stay was less than relaxing. Your experience was far below our usual high standards, but please be assured your comments have been noted and will be followed up with the Management Team at our hotel. Your feedback is very much appreciated and we look forward to welcoming you back to Premier Inn in the future.

Booked 2 air conditioned rooms 6 months in advance. On arrival told equipment needs overhaul only fans available. Not welcome news after 6 hours in a car on one of the hottest days of the year.Staff tried very hard getting fans for us,but they were let down by the Premier Inn management.Hotel in good position, rooms clean and comfortable, but we did not get what we had booked i.e. air-conditioned comfort!

Don't stay in a Travelodge....see my comments at Cambridge where we stayed prior to this fantastic Premier Inn. The following is part of my letter of complaint to Travelodge PRAISING this Premier Inn:

Car Park: Multi story next door. Park as long as you are at the hotel. Enter as often as you like. Hotel stamps ticket….so free. Would have cost £18.30 for 3 days.
Room: Larger than Travelodge….see photos….with a full bathroom with shower over. Larger shelf with 2 rows of coat hangers. Shelf for tea making with 2 cups and 2 glass tumblers which were changed daily.
The bed was larger and very comfortable as were the pillows and duvet. A nice touch was a sheet to use instead of the duvet because so hot in the evening. Large fan was useful.
2 bath towels plus 2 hand towels plus dispensers full of soap and shower gel.
Breakfast: So different from Travelodge!
Greater choice. Everything available. Choice of 3 fruit dishes and 3 dried fruit (2 @ Travelodge). More choice of cereals. Fruit juices always available. Bacon, sausage, fried eggs cooked to perfection. Bread appeared not pre frozen. If you wanted omelette or poached eggs these were cooked fresh to order. Nothing to dislike.
Iced water in reception free because so hot. Drinks 2 for 1 in bar even bottles of wine at happy hour.
Staff: Were always friendly and efficient.
Breakfast so good we stayed in for the 2 nights and ate in the restaurant.

Room Tip: Road in front of hotel was bit busy in the day but at night quite quiet.

Another great stay at Premier Inn this time at Duke St Norwich. Arrived with grandson after spending a day at Bewilderwood just wanted a decent meal and comfy room for the night, and we wasn't disappointed. Made to feel welcome and enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Car park was a few doors away which was ok and it was free. Reception was efficient and well air conditioned, not so once you got to room so hot and airless with a fan to circulate hot air. Bed was large and comfy but pillows were as comfortable as bags of cement no good telling me I could have got feather ones from reception when I am checking out!!! Not a great experience perhaps made more obvious as we had stayed in bury the previous night which was excellent....
