Those who have not stayed in a Premier Inn may wonder why this place is popular. It may be a chain hotel with no particular character but the rooms are a good size, the price includes a full day’s parking on the day of arrival and departure (and any days between) in the car park that is about 100 yards away. The hotel is within 5-10 minutes walk of most parts of the City centre. Breakfast is in the hotel’s own restaurant is standard Premier Inn and perfectly satisfactory. The restaurant also does dinner, but there is a good choice of restaurants within easy walking distance. Although close to the centre, during our (midweek) stay the area was relatively quiet and we slept well.

The best test of whether a hotel is good is whether you would go back and we will without hesitation. Really good hotel for any visit to Norwich city centre

Just came back from 4 nights at this Hotel, and I have to say I have no complaints. I'm expect a very good level of service, so for me to say that is rare. Booking in was easy, and the location was great for seeing Norwich. The best surprise was having a proper Air Con unit in each room which was bliss considering our stay was during the hot spell. We didn't have breakfast here as we find the Premiere Inn breakfast too overwelming when all we might want is a bacon, and hash brown sandwich for a couple of pounds. Therefore we ate a a well known pub chain 5 minutes walk from the Hotel which did a 7am breakfast. We also didn't get to eat here in the Evening due to plans we had each day but on one occasion did have a bar snack which was rather nice. The rooms are opened, and operated by an key crad which you have to put in the slot just inside each room to activate the power. If I was to stay in Norwich again this Hotel would be top of my list, not only for location, and quality of the rooms, but the fact that the rooms were very clean, and attended too early in the day. The staff were also very firendly, and helpful.

With the weather been so spectacular and with me and my partner both been off together for the weekend for once we decided to spend the glorious weekend away in Norwich. Spent the night before surfing various websites for a cheap last minute hotel in or around Norwich. Im a travel agent so know what and where to look, or so I thought? We kept coming back to the Premier Inn website and decided to book the morning before we arrived. Having found the hotels number I called and spoke to a very helpful and polite young lady, (Nicky I think), who answered all my questions and took the booking at NO extra charge! Usually these companies will sting you an admin charge to book over the phone! We were given directions and told the car parking is completely free and where that was and that the hotel was 5 minutes from the markets in Norwich, all correct! Infact the location really couldn't be better. After arriving in Norwich and parking in the St Andrews multi storey we had an afternoon looking round and went to the hotel to check in about 15.00. Was checked in very efficiently by a friendly gentlman and found our room very easy as it was room 3! Massive room, bigger than better grade hotels i've stayed in, the bed is so comfy I sank in it, the room is spotlessly clean as is the ample bathroom. Room has flatscreen TV with freeview, air conditioning, free and individually controlled, if a bit noisey, towels and even shower gel in the shower! Im sat in the room writing this review now just to proof that the internet connection really isn't that bad?!?!

I don't think we paid the lowest price at £75 total for the room on a room only basis, but surfing the net, for the location it wasn't the most expensive by far especially as the car parking is included, which can be expensive in Norwich and the fact that the room is nice and comfy I can't complain at all and would recommend this hotel completely. My first time in a Premier Inn and if this is what they are like it won't be my last either. Now to the pub to enjoy this British Summer!

This was our first stay at a Premier Inn. We arrived very late and was greeted by two very helpful staff (Jack & Bogden) who made our check in quick and easy but still informative.
Our room was clean & comfortable and the all you can eat breakfast was good.
Our only observation was the heat in the room and hotel in general. Probably not a problem with normal british weather, but during the heat wave.........too hot.!
Still very pleased.

There are so many Premier Inns in Norwich I am not sure whether "norwich South" is the right venue! Anyway, I stayed in Duke Street and ALL of my reviews now contain a standard response with regard to WIFI access in my misssion to get all UK hotels to offer FREE WIFI access whbich is very standard no win the United States and there is no financial reason why that shouldn't be the case in the UK either. And that is: Any hotel not offering FREE WIFI access will automatically be deducted one star from ratings. They will lose another star if customers also face issues with their own access provided by mobile dongles. In this case, this hotel automtically lose 2 stars as they offer no free wifi and other internet access is poor, very poor. Even the TVs in the room struggle to pick up a digital signal and this is unacceptable. To be fair, Premier are not alone, but there are some rare occasions where UK hotels DO offer this, so why can't they all, it is after all 2010! Premier inns do offer a nicely fressh cooked breakfast and I am "upping" their rating because of this by one star. becuase even the high class hotels dont offer this in reality, I hate thos ebuffet brekkies where they are stale . The rest of this review is irrelevant as Premier Inns all over the uk are exactly the same. My general view of Premier is that your averag larger lout decorator on business stays in them and thats why they have the locks on all the doors EVERYWHERE which dont make you feel safe, just makes you feel like it's a little seedy and cheap and it's annoying! Would I choose to saty in Permier? No not really if I had a choice. Are they worst? Certainly not, they just need to up the anti on the tackyness front really. Oh and one other thing,,,,,i defy anyone to get a room at £29.99 as they consistently advertise.

Thank you for your review. Your feedback is very much appreciated in our continued endeavours to meet our customers needs. At Premier Inn the safety and security of our guests is of paramount importance to us. A number of our hotels will have internal doors that can only be accessed with a room key card. The feedback we have received has been very positive as this does offer our guests a more comfortable level of security. Thanks for your comment regarding the Internet Access this has been noted and will be duly followed up by our Marketing Team. Our Premier Offers are subject to availability our Premier Inn website has all the up to date availability and offer Terms and Conditions.

For me, the only good thing about this hotel was its location. It is about a 10-minute walk from the town centre, and parking is free for hotel guests at the St. Andrew’s carpark (about a 5-minute walk from the hotel).

I have always relied on tripadvisor in choosing my hotels and have never been disappointed, but this was one instance where I felt that this hotel did not deserve its #3 rating on tripadvisor (at the time of writing). We got a room facing the main road and it was very noisy when we opened the window. The room was dated, very basic and no toiletries were provided (not unexpected though, given that it’s a budget hotel). The bed was clean but there were some stains on the carpet and we found stray hairs on the table. The receptionists were not particularly helpful and only provided us with bare minimum information. I have stayed in other budget hotels before, and know that some budget hotels can be of very high standard. Premier Inn Norwich, however, was not one of them.
