We went for a meal as we had had our doing receptn there 18 years ago. The place has been upgraded since, and though still a little tired in places, it is a nice relaxed place, which is what drew us there all those years ago... But the food far surpassed our expectations, it was really sub, and the rice was excellent too. They forgot to add the wine to the bill and when I had queried the cheapness of the bill and they realised the mistake it was put on the house... Really great evening.

The hotel looked lovely from the photos. A bit different to what you get when you arrive. The entrance has a manky old red carpet leading to old revolving doors. There is a foul smell of drains at the entrance. As you get into the lobby it is like stepping back in time. We walked past the restaurant which was dead! Would not dine there as it had no atmosphere. The room really was terrible. The four poster bed was so old and creaky. You could clearly hear people in the other rooms and walking past the corridor. The air conditioning unit illuminated the room with its lights and there was no way to turn the power off, meaning you couldn't get the room dark at night. The decor was old, dated, tired and floral. The bathroom was just horrible, looked like something from the 1960s. Clearly this hotel hasn't had much money spent on it and it really shows. I hoped for something of a romantic weekend away, but felt the hotel was a bit of an embarrassment really. Would definitely not chose this hotel again!

Beautiful building and grounds. Went for a wedding. Rooms were small and there was a bird in my sister's wall. Could be cleaner. Poor water pressure in shower. One room in our group was not ready when we arrived. Food was ok. free Wi-Fi did not work from rooms, just lobby, and that was spotty. No lift/elevator.

    June 1st,2012,
My daughter's wedding was as near to perfect as possible thanks to mainly Kate and Stephen, but all the staff were very good. The wedding breakfast was excellent,as was the service we received.
I was not aware of any grumbles, only that the air con in some rooms was to warm for some.
The grounds were in fantastic condition, and the rabbits in the grounds entertained the children.
The tables in the marquee were expertly dressed, and the table spacing very good. The High-chairs provided for the children were excellent,as were the toilet facilities within the marquee.
I would not hesitate in recommending this Hotel on the experience we had.

The wife and I picked Caistor Hall for our daughters wedding venue and boy, we couldnt have made a better decision.
The staff were incrediably attentive and helpfull without being overbearing and intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble and the Bride and Groom were treated with the reverence they deserved.
Food was exeptional and effiecently served with no grumbles at all from 120 guests.
We cant really sing the praises of this venues highly enough as money is hard earned and easily spent, we strongly feel it was worth every penny and then some.
