“Perfect wedding venue,Amazing staff”
Reviewed 28 March 2013

we booked our wedding at Caistor Hall September 21st 2012 as its such a beautiful venue , big enough to hold plenty of guests but most importantly personal , friendly service! from the minute we looked around the staff couldnt have been more helpful.they were excellent at answering any questions, nothing was too much trouble and on the day they were amazing . I had a very clear view of how i wanted venue decorated and we came armed with many boxes full of flowers ,vases, pictures etc I gave them a plan of what i wanted and they were really great and helped set everything up with us.They also offered a great menu with vegan and vegetarian options..the service throughout the day was wonderful all the staff were helpful ,friendly and helped give the day a really relaxed feel but they also kept things going along on time.Cant fault the staff and they really helped make our day special. As for the venue and rooms ,i love it ,yes its abit tatty in places, and not all modern fitting etc but its got character and is beautiful ,the reason we picked it! we really couldnt have asked for a better wedding venue .

We stayed a s group a year ago for a wine tasting weekend and it was superb. We did the same again this March (2013) and had an equally great time. We enjoyed our private room for the tasting sessions and our gastronomic dinners. As a group we decided that some Trip Advisor visitors would make the following comments: no smoked salmon for Saturday breakfast; no marmalade for Sunday breakfast; plumbing in bedrooms needs updating; we missed Keith the chef - the substitute was good but not as good as Keith. Whilst we missed the smoked salmon and marmalade we did not starve! Overall very good and we are planning next years already. The staff were excellent.

Room Tip: We stayed in the superior rooms for space.

When I booked Caistor Hall I was amazed by the low prices - so much so trhat I nearly cancelled and booked elsewhere - after all somewhere so chap can't be aqny good can it? YES it can! this hotel is excellent! great reception staff polite and helpful from original call to checking in on arrival. Evening meal whilst extra cost (as expected) was great value at under £20pp. Even Breakfast whilst at first seeming expensive at £10pp I considered to be worth every penny. Yes some of the details could do with attention (I don't think the Chandiliers had ever been dusted) but the Hotel was very pleasing. I actually came for the funeral of a dear friend. The 'Funeral Tea' was also held in this hotel, Great food, plenty of it, great variety, hot n cold finger food with lots tea and filter coffee. Far beyond expectations. I reccommend this hotel to all.

I have stayed at this hotel regularly over the past year and a half on business, sometimes for several weeks at a time and have always enjoyed my stays.

There are many different types of rooms available (unlike the more modern hotels which tend to be pretty standard throughout) which means that if a certain room doesn't suit you, there are several others to choose from, each with it's own individual character, and the management and staff are always happy to accommodate you in this instance, as and when alternative rooms become available.

The staff are polite, courteous and, unlike many places I’ve stayed, Friendly too!
On the very rare occasion that I have had an issue, it has been sorted immediately with no fuss
.
The manager, senior staff and the girls on reception all work hard to ensure that clients are taken care of and made to feel welcome. Nothing is too much trouble!

The rooms I have stayed in have always been clean and tidy and the housekeepers do a great job replenishing consumables and making sure there are always fresh towels when needed.

The food has always been to a high standard at competitive prices and the chefs are more than happy to cater for any special requests.

This is a hotel full of charm and character set in acres of landscaped gardens and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed and comfortable stay in a friendly atmosphere.

Firstly we are a couple in our 30's, and stayed here for one night due to visiting family nearby.

When pulling into the car park, all looks promising. We arrived at around 10pm on a Sunday evening and were greeted by someone behind reception who looked ready to go home, dressed in a hoody and body warmer. The shutter to the reception desk was most of the way down. Our key and air con remote? Was shoved across and with a grunt and a point we were directed to our room.

The room was large, but in need of a major re furb. Carpets were thread bare, and the decor extremely tired. The en suite was of a very poor finish, and came complete with cob webs in the corners

This was all such a shame, as the building looked lovely in an impressive setting, close to the main roads of Norwich

Next time we will be sticking to the more reliable chains.

Didn't stop or breakfast.

We got married at Caistor Hall Hotel on 12th January 2013.

On the run up to the big day, the events/wedding management team ensured we had discussed every option and made sure our day would be how we wanted it.

The wedding day could not have been more perfect

Everything was exactly how we wanted/imagined it. The food was great, the staff were friendly, and they ensured the day ran smoothly and how we had planned.

The play-casino the hotel recommended were brilliant.

The bridal sweet was lovely, with a huge 4 poster bed and a Jacuzzi, and the breakfast was delicious.

We will definitely be booking a room to celebrate our 1 year anniversary.

Many thanks to the staff at Caistor Hall Hotel for their help in making our wedding day such a great day.
