Tempted by the price we selected this hotel. On arrival we found one of the duvets to be dirty. This was changed immediately. After unpacking the car we went to use the ensuite bathroom. There were still marks from the last occupant in the toilet and toilet paper over the floor. We complained to reception and after telling us it was bleach marks came to clean the dark brown stains off the toilet. They left the last occupants toilet paper still on the floor. The website lists a sofa bed in the room. This did not exist. There were stains on the carpet. Even the pen lid was bent and there was a hair on the notepad.

Stayed here for one night over a weekend in October. Checkin was very efficient - staff explained all facilities and breakfast times etc. Room was your basic Holiday Inn Express room and clean and spacious. Buffet breakfast served in the nice reception area downstairs with very moreish croissants and good Tchibo coffee! All in all a pleasant stay.

We recently stayed for one night at the Holiday Inn Express while visiting family in Norfolk. Our overall view of the hotel was excellent value for money. We pre-paid / booked via the internet and paid only £45 B&B for a double room.
The hotel is easily located on the A140 just north of Norwich and is located on a shopping / leisure park. From the outside the building looks a bit “1970’s” but inside it is lovely and clean and modern. The hotel has clearly recently been renovated and the reception was friendly and well laid out. The rooms are well appointed, clean and modern. Each room has a flat screen digital TV, shower gel, tea & coffee making facilities and hair dryer. Our bathroom was a good size with a walk in shower (no bath).
The hotel has lots of car parking and also a small bar for evening drinks / light meals. Breakfast is continental, and self service, but nevertheless excellent. There was a wide range of choices from pastries, toast, rolls, cereals, fruits, yogurts and drinks. The staff were all friendly and very helpful.
Overall we have stayed in hotels that cost twice as much and weren’t nearly as good. Recommended!

A value for money basic hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Sure, parking is a bit of a problem with having to compete with the skating rink and ASDA, but there's no problem with unloading cases close to the entry. Cheap meals are available from the adjacent ASDA.
Would certainly select this hotel on any future visit.

We were traveling with friends. Both families had young children. We'd had a busy day on the beach and were all slightly weary. The hotel was easy enough to find (look for the enormous ASDA) but parking was confusing and busy. Took us at least 10 mins and one unhelpful visit to reception to clarify which parking spaces we could use in order to get both cars parked. The receptionist was cool but professional. We were booked in quickly and this is a very reasonably priced hotel. V. clean and spacious reception/breakfast area. Widescreen tv's and sofas. Hotel quite new and everything shiny still. Our room was boiling, friend's was freezing. Took three calls to the cool, slightly bored sounding receptionist to get this fixed. It was finally admitted, on call three that the a/c was broken (no sh** Sherlock??!!) and instructions were given on how to mitigate for this but every time we had to leave the rooms with our key-cards we had to call reception again to reset the a/c. V. tiresome. Had the windows opened this would have been less of an issue but it really did mar our enjoyment and would stop me from recommending this hotel to others. Beds v. reasonable and rooms extremely clean and fresh. Nice bathroom. Fold out sofa was made up already for our children which was good and isn't always the case in family rooms. Had to request extra milk for tea. Chap at reception this time was very nice and extremely helpful. Breakfast quite good for the price. No cooked options (well, unless you count toast!) but great selection of pastries/croissant/cereals et al. We didn't have any noise problems as some other reviewers seem to have suffered.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review.

Guest feedback is one of the most important and effective methods in allowing us to constantly monitor and improve the service we offer and i am pleased you have taken the time to offer your comments.

firstly i would like to apologise for the experience you and your friends had regarding the air conditioning. we have looked into the problem and it has been rectified. unfortunatlly all our windows do not open this is due to a techniqual design of the hotel when built. this is constanly upon review and will be mointed closely.

Im happy to hear that the breakfast and room (apart from the aircon) was to to your satisfaction and hope we have the pleasure in welcoming you back to the hotel in the future.

We spent 5 nights over a long weekend here.

The hotel is located between an Ice Rink (closed at the moment) and a sports/fitness club, and alongside a huge ASDA. The hotel advertises 80 parking spaces, but only about 20 of these are marked for hotel use, the rest shared with the adjacent 'sports village'. We were able to find a space in front of the hotel when we arrived, but most evenings we found one of the other unmarked spaces vacant. There were always a few spaces in the currently redundant ice rink car park.

The building looks like an industrial unit, but once inside it is a pleasantly clean modern space. Reception was exceptionally welcoming and helpful.

The rooms were spacious, modern and clean with a good shower-room/toilet. There was a flat-screen TV with a few programmes extra to the usual 5 and pay films. Hanging space was small and there are no drawers at all. Our room was clean and well maintained. The air conditioning worked well. Tea/coffee supplies were stingy (2 teas, 2 coffees and 2 milks with 4 sugars) and there was no hot chocolate. I needed both milks in one cup.

The included breakfast was truly continental and included cereals, bread (with toaster) croissants, pastries, yoghurt, pre wrapped cheese and choice of real milk or skimmed. Coffee was from a machine dispensing all the popular styles. Fruit juices were available from a dispenser but were the most insipid I have ever tasted - totally artificial and watery, not reflecting any of the fruits shown on the labels. (When reception asked if everything was all right, they were surprised at being told this).

The room was generaly quiet. On a couple of evenings when the fitness club had the bass thumping it was not really disturbing and anyway it stopped before 8pm.

For the money paid (£51 per room per night except £63 on Friday) we thought the hotel was good value despite the dread of not finding parking late evening. We would go again if we could not get rooms at our usual place.

Visited with two girlfriends a couple weeks ago. The hotel was very clean and neat and well decorated for a Holiday Inn Express, exactly what you would expect. The breakfast was also good. However, the beds were so-so and the duvet/pillows definitely need to be upgraded for the price.

My big complaint was with the noise at night. We got back to the hotel at 10 pm on Saturday night could hear a huge party going on outside. Apparently, the 'health club' next door was having a party. We called to reception to complain. First, they told us that they didn't hear anything (walk outside, morons). Then they told us it was aerobics at the club, that would be over at 10 pm (it was 10.30). Finally, they said, oh, it might be the club next door, but there is nothing that we can do. WRONG. First, you can be honest the first time. Second, you can offer to move us, or double-glaze your windows. Third, you can complain to the local business council or whoever about a noise violation. The noise itself, I forgave. The staff being lazy and lying to us, I could not.

This hotel is probably fine Monday - Thursday for business travellers, but I wouldn't recommend on the weekends. It is not close to city-center, but we knew that going in. The location next to the ASDA is actually convenient, although makes parking difficult on Saturdays.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay at our hotel. Firstly I would like to apologise for the noise issue you received during your stay.

The hotel, Ice rink and Health club used to be one sports complex before it was renovated to three seperate businesses. Unfortunately this means some noise may carry through the building.

The windows are double glazed but I would like to apologise for our staff not resolving this issue promptly to ensure your stay was to a high standard. I can ensure that this will not happen again.

Once again thank you for your feedback and I hope you will consider staying with us again.
