“Holiday Inn saved our weekend”
Reviewed 30 May 2013

After a disastrous start to our bank holiday weekend, the Holiday Inn came to the rescue by being able to accommodate my sister and I as walk-ins.
There were only five rooms left and the hotel was full of wedding guests.
We were allowed to check-in before 10am, so we did not have to leave our luggage in our car until the advertised check-in time.
Our room overlooked the football ground where, during the weekend several youth teams were playing.
My husband and I stayed last October and I was pleased that standards are still high.
The young man on reception (Nick, if I remember correctly) was friendly, efficient, professional and helpful. He can have had no idea just how grateful we were that he found us "a room at the inn".
Our room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was immaculate, with a powerful shower and contemporary basin and vanity area.
Breakfast was chaotic on Sunday morning, as there were too many people waiting for too few tables, but the staff worked their socks off clearing and cleaning tables, and trying to accommodate people as quickly as possible.
It was much less stressful the following morning, as the wedding party had obviously checked out the day before.
All in all, a well-run hotel with well-trained and courteous staff.
We will be staying here again on our next visit to Norwich.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the football ground.

This hotel is ideally placed for a short break being about 10mins walk to the centre of Norwich. We requested a quiet room & were allocated one overlooking the football ground (on a non-match day) which was very peaceful at night.
All the staff we met were professional but friendly. Breakfast was excellent, including a good choice of dishes freshly cooked to order.
At £132 for 2 nights B&B this has to be excellent value.
One minor niggle, though, is the additional charge of £4.95/day for car parking. (We also noticed that a few cars had parking tickets issued for not being wholly in the bays, so care is needed there.)

My dad and I stayed here two nights while visiting friends in Norwich. Very clean hotel. Fairly new construction. No criticisms really just a few comments to be aware of. Face clothes are not in your room, but available by request at the front desk. No alarm clock in the rooms, but they can give you a wake up call. Free WiFi is only available in the lobby area. You need to request a user name and p/w at the front desk. Please aware you are charged for local calls. Lovely full or continental breakfast. You will need to get a voucher at the front desk, but don't think like I did that the voucher meant complimentary, it doesn't . The room at the back overlook a football/soccer field so if you are a fan you might catch a game. We stayed in 205 which had a good view, but more to the centre would give you an excellent view up the field .

Room Tip: If you like soccer/ football pick something on the back, second floor or higher and more in the cent...

Have stayed here a number of times on business - whilst there are no major faults, I find the 4*/5* reviews on here very hard to see the justification for. The staff on the desk are very attentive and efficient, however during breakfast and in the evening in the bar/restaurant they are often understaffed / not attentive enough. The food is poor. Decent wifi in the lobby/bar, but no signal in rooms forcing you to pay.

Rooms arn't the cleanest sometimes.

Decent location - about 10 min walk into town. Some of the rooms have pitch views of Carrow Road Stadium - great for Norwich / away football fans.

Firstly I would like to thank you for using our Hotel on a regular basis. Our city location and key road access makes us a great business stopover. I am also glad that our great costumer service has been identified, but I have taken your comments about the food service further with the management team. We do receive more than average 4 and 5 star ratings and this we attribute to our service and product culture. We are now reviewing the Wi Fi options in the hotel and we are still offering a free lobby, restaurant option for our guest. The charge for our in room internet has been set in line with our market pricing. We try and offer a diversity of food options and our popular evening meals are based on table de hote specials that are prepared in-house to suit clients. I thank you again for your comments and look forward to greeting you back soon. Kind Regards Quinton O’Shea

Nice friendly hotel, it's a typical Holiday Inn, they all tend to be the same some vary in quality but here I found the staff very helpfull,
nice relaxing reveption and breakfast room.
I was here for a meeting with Football club so never seen much of the area but it is close to coast and the Norfolk Broads.
Small car park in front of hotel but large football carpark next door.
Room was nice and airy all the usual tea coffe ect. No complaints would stay here again if in area
