Stayed here as part of a Treyn holiday, every member of staff was very friendly and helpful. The room we had was overlooking Norwich City's ground which was quite interesting as there were matches on every day we were there. We had 2 double beds in our room which was fabulous, no fighting for covers!
The food was excellent, although as we were in a group we had a different menu from the main hotel, the restaurant staff were kept very busy but they coped very well always with a welcoming smile and James being my hero for remembering the ice cream. The only minus point was the price of drinks but overall highly recommended.

Thank you for your recent review of our hotel NannySquirrel.

It is wonderful to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us, and I hope you will come back and stay with us again the next time you are in Norwich.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments regarding our staff, I will pass this on to them, in particular James and I am sure they will be very pleased. We always strive to give the best guest service we can.

Also thanks for mentioning about the pitch view rooms - these rooms provide excellent view certainly during the match days.

On staying at holiday inn at Norwich for the bank holiday weekend. Two of us had the pleasure of staying in this so very clean and friendly hotel. Although we chose not to eat at the hotel tha prices and choice seemed very reasonable.

Room Tip: The room which we stayed in was spotlessly clean and roomy.

Arriving much earlier than we thought, we parked up for free outside the door, the receptionist Gill was excellent and very welcoming, found us a lovely room with pitch views and let us check in . Gill then showed us the easiest way to get into the city and the way to the cathedral thank you for all your help. Our room was nice and big spotlessly clean and the beds two doubles where lovely and comfy and we sleeved really well. We had read people complaining about the distance into the city it is a Ten to fifteen minute walk, but if that is a problem for some people catch the bus we did on our first day £2.20 for both of us outside morrisons, and a really lovely walk back after a few drinks , we walked the next day yes it is a bit uphill but that is not the hotels fault. The breakfast which was included in our price was excellent , lots of choice cereal, cakes fresh fruit and of course a full English . My husband chose of the menu one morning scrambled eggs and smoked salmon he said was lovely. We were shown to our table and drinks arrived quickly with a smile all the staff made you feel very welcome, you have a very good team. We really had a great weekend and we will choose your chain again have already recommended it to friends Thank you

Despite the unprepossessing appearance - the building literally forms the corner wall of the football stadium - this hotel was great for an overnight stay in Norwich.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, hotel clean, smart and tidy.

One tip - the 6th floor rooms certainly have iPod docking station clock radio alarms - worth a check before you go off to bed whether the previous guest has set the alarm! Didn't plan on waking at 6am on Sunday morning.....!

The Hotel is in a great location for the city and provides high quality dining and lounge facilities.
The accommodation is well presented and spacious, with well trained and polite staff.
Easily one of the best Holiday Inn Hotels I have stayed in.

Four of us stayed here for the weekend because we were at the Norwich v Arsenal match. From the moment we stepped inside the hotel the staff couldn't do enough for us. We were greeted with a warm welcome and even though the check in time was not until 2pm our room was ready and we were allowed in. We had 2 double beds which was nice and we didn't even realise until we pulled back the curtains we had a pitch view as well. Everybody in the hotel was so polite and friendly. We had pre booked the breakfast which I recommend but you can also do it on arrival at reception and save about £4 per person I think. I thought it was well worth it as it has an unlimited help yourself buffet with everything you could want and even the specials in the breakfast menu are included too so all you had to do is ask one of the staff and they will bring it to your table. On the matchday the place obviously gets busier but there was enough staff serving the bars so we didn't have to wait too long for our pre match beers! I would definitely stay here again

Room Tip: Room 307 we were in and you got a good view of the whole pitch !

The staff on reception couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable and all you would expect from a newish Holiday Inn.
Had a good night's sleep and pretty quiet considering it was in the city.
However breakfast service let the experience down badly.
1. The restaurant area cramped and a decidedly down market feel to it.
2. Service very poor - only two staff and tables not cleared coffee/tea not offered.
3. Breakfast was not of the standard I have experienced at other Holiday Inns. Scrambled eggs leathery, breads not replaced when they ran out etc etc.
I saw several people just give up and go.
If service is improved would go back, because the bedrooms are comfortable and staff friendly.

Thank you for your review Gingerhair 54 and good comments about the bedrooms.

We're naturally disappointed about your comments with regards to your overall breakfast experience and do respect your view. As you may have noticed from other reviews on Tripadvisor this is far from the norm and generally receive extremely positive feedback. The issues raised by you have been discussed with the Head Chef and the Restaurant Manager and do trust you will give us another opportunity for you to experience our high standards.

Please do contact me direct if you wish to book a room for your future stay and we will certainly ensure that your breakfast experience is second to none.
