Restaurant on main road so easy to find. Once inside, the restaurant was cramped and basic. This restaurant needs a complete redesign and needs updating. Food okay, but nothing special.

£50 for two starters two mains and two drinks was pretty pricey for such bland stuff. over £7 for a coke and a small bottle of cider was a rip off. starters were ok in fairness but nout to get excited about. chicken tikka balti, which i eat on a weekly basis, is a classic indian dish which i have never really been disappointed with anywhere. however this one was tasteless, completely tasteless. naans were soggy, the service was fine but doesn't make up for high prices on poor food. nowhere near value for money.

My husband and i ate here as it was only round the corner from the Travelodge where we were staying. The service was ok, and the prices were good for a city centre (including a reasonable wine list). On the whole the food was very good and tasty, although the Lamb Rogan Josh i had was the spiciest ever and the lamb very tough, so i could not eat much of it.

This was round the corner from the Travelodge, so very handy for my business trip.
The first thing that strikes you is the very unfriendly service. I almost felt like an inconvenience. I was one of the few people in the restaurant so being busy was not an excuse.
Decor is tired. Definitely needs sprucing up. Table was reasonably clean. Started with the standard pops and pickles. Lime pickle was obviously home made which was full of flavour but a bit too lumpy. This made a nice change from the pre made stuff you get everywhere. Poppadums were a bit soft. For main, chose a chicken tikka balti. Tikka seems to be on offer for quite a few dishes in this restaurant interestingly. Very nice chicken with a good range of spices and not too much ghee. Keema nan was a little greasy though.
Overall not bad but the experience was marred by the attitude of the staff. No excuse really for this in these hard times.
