“The place to stay in Settle”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2011

We stayed for 2 nights at The Settle Lodge in room 3 which was plenty big enough. On arrival Amanda made us feel very welcome and made us coffee and cake which we enjoyed in the sitting room whilst taking in the lovely view of the hills. The room was really nice, done to a high standard and had a fab view of the hills, the only (really minor) gripe was that the shower wasn't the most powerful. Breakfast was excellent and overall so was the B&B, great value for money and only 5 minutes or so down the road from the town centre.

We had two rooms on the top floor (bit of a challenge getting our cases up the two flights of stairs but once there it is worth it!). The rooms were both delightful - well furnished but not over the top. Great selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate. Fabulous view of the moor from the windows, comfortable beds - good ensuite and good sized rooms. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious!

We were welcomed with tea, cake and helpful ideas for places to visit by Amanda.
Amanda and Eduardo were welcoming and always helpful with ideas for places to eat in the evenings and walk during the day.
The bedroom(room 4) was large and comfortably furnished ,with panoramic views. The bathroom was lovely and supplied with toiletries from The White Company. breakfast was plentiful and always very nice.
We had a very enjoyable stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Amanda and Eddie - you would really struggle to find more hospitable hosts. We were welcomed with a tray of tea and the most delicious cake on arrival and then shown to our room. We stayed in Room 4 which was very spacious and very tastefully furnished. There was plenty of room for the family which saved us having to book two separate rooms. Settle is very well placed for walking and exploring the Yorkshire Dales and of course the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway line.
We can't wait to visit again!

we stayed in room 4 which was huge with an enormous, comfortable king sized bed. The room has 2 single lounge chairs, a settee with lots of comfy cushions, a flat screen tv and dvd player, clock/radio, desk, large wardrobe, chest of drawers, hairdyer, a selection of teas/coffees/hot chocolate and biscuits plus lots of information on the local area. Unfortunately there is no wi-fi but Eduardo kindly offered the use of their broadband dongle. The bathroom was large and looked new, the heated towel rail was a lovely surprise and soaps, body wash and shampoo were all supplied. There is free private off-street parking at the back of the house. The lovely village of Settle is a 5 minute stroll down the hill. We ate at the Royal Oak Hotel, would recommend it, the food and atmosphere was great. We enjoyed our stay at Settle Lodge and had a nice quiet sleep even though the house is set right on the main road (the double glazing does a great job of cutting out the road noise)

Very comfortable room with little extras that we hadn't expected at the price. Ensuite very clean and efficient. Dining room nicely appointed. Breakfast excellent with a good choice. Very quite at night and very convenient for a stroll into Settle. Hostess pleasant without being pushy.
