“absolutely the best b&b we have stayed in”

what a fantastic place to stay - and what value! Rooms were very spacious, and decorated beautifully, all modern and no chintz! I can't tell you all how pleasantly suprised I was that we got such a spacious room (brand new spacious bathroom included) for such a great price. Breakfast was very nice, and we were offered tea and cake on arrival after our drive from London. It's a short walk into town which is cute in itself! The hosts definitely deserve the top rating on this site - the quality of the accomodation is superb!

A lovingly restored Victorian guest house that has been done up perfectly. The rooms are spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay an extremely pleasant one. Breakfasts are more than ample with lots of fresh local produce available. would highly recommend this place.

Stayed recently with a friend on a walking break and we were both absolutely delighted with Settle Lodge. The rooms are clean, light and airy with wonderful views and Amanda and Eduardo are full of local knowledge and advice.

There is plenty of off road parking to the rear and the breakfast was excellent. We will definitely be staying here again!

I chose this establishment from the reviews on here and I wasn't disappointed. This place is a real gem and I can only echo the sentiments of the previous reviewers. It is spotless, tastefully decorated and the hospitality of Amanda and Eduardo is excellent.
We too stayed in room 4 and it has a view to die for and a bed to get lost in,I've never slept in one so huge.
Stay here you wont be disappointed.

Just come back from a weekend break at Settle Lodge. We stayed in room 4, which you would describe as the master suite in the guesthouse.
We found the hotel very accessible and there was plenty car parking available to the rear of the building. There were ample guides and books detailing walks and local attractions in the room, and the owners provided a list of recommended places to eat and were more than helpful with any request we had. Drinks were offered on arrival as was fresh milk for the room if preferred.

The room an accompanying onsuite was vast, well furnished and explicitly clean. Not a hint of dust to be found.
Waking up the next morning an opening the curtains to the huge bay window revealed a view you can't really describe with words, so instead take a look at the attached photos.

The cooked breakfast was really nice and the local sausage was full of flavour. My girlfriend asked for a vegetarian alternative to the cooked breakfast, and was presented with the option of a few different veggie sausages, which I'm told were equally tasty.
There was also a comprehensive selection of cereals, croissants, choc o pains, yoghurt and juice for those with a hearty appetite (ahem...that'd be me).

We spent the first day itself at White Scar Caves which we thought was worth a visit while in the area, then off to Hawes in the afternoon.

There are a number of local pubs and restaurants in Settle itself which offer good value for an evening meal. We settled (excuse the pun) on an Indian Restaurant called R-Spice. The food was really nice and the prices were very reasonable. It's worth noting that they weren't licensed though so the intention was to BYO drinks. We weren't aware of this, and were running late so were happy just to sit down to a nice meal.

The second day we spent looking around Settle itself, at the railway and then enroute to a number of villages on our way back home.

Back onto Settle Lodge itself, we managed to sneak a peek at another 2 rooms when the doors were open and they were as equally well presented as ours. I would however strongly recommended Room 4 if you're after something that little bit more special. The huge windows with the fab view, extra space, gigantic bed and lovely seating area are well worth the additional cost for this room.
It certainly surpasses the majority of other guesthouses which charge more for less, this one seems like a 4* hotel.

We would certainly visit Settle Lodge again. We had a fantastic time and were impressed with Amanda and Eduardo's knowledge of the area and overall hospitality; friendly yet not invasive.
Eduardo informed us that he has a number of projects planned, including renovating the original sash windows and we look forward to our return visit so we can see these 'improvements'.

Thanks,
Phil and Mish

My partner, her parents and I have just returned home from a weekend break in Settle, we were on a caving weekend and stayed at Settle Lodge for two nights.

Upon arrival we were greeted by Amanda who was very helpful and friendly, her knowledge of the area is excellent and gave us some great advice on where to eat, walk etc.

We stayed in Rooms 6 & 7 and both were spotlessly clean and extremely well finished.
Room 7 just won the battle for best room.

If we ever return to Settle we will stay here without a doubt. Both Amanda and Eddie were extremely courteous and helpful. (Plus Amanda's cake is excellent!!)

Thanks

James, Sam, Clare & Stan.

Excellent B&B only 5 minutes' walk from Settle, with private parking. Friendly owners who made us a lovely coffee & cakes after a long drive on our first night. We stayed in Room 7 (rococo design), rather a lot of stairs to climb but the morning views over the Dales were amazing. Wonderful large room with plenty of space. The full English breakfast was great, and they provided a list and recommendations of where to eat in the evening. Books on walks were available to borrow, so we did Malham Cove and Gordale. Highly recommended for a weekend break.
