This is our 4th visit to Layhead after staying there for our niece's wedding. Ideally situated for all of the Yorkshire Dales, only an hour from the Lake district and Blackpool (although personally suggest you go to Lytham St Annes as Blackpool rather scraggy).
Rosemary makes you very welcome to her spotless and comfortable cottages. The Stables this time round, very peaceful and has the added bonus of friendly chickens, baby bunnies and the sheep being far enough away not to wake you!. Great for children and dogs, (but for those of us without dogs - you wouldn't know if dogs had been staying in your cottage - no doggy smell!)
Also the local produce very delicious.

Room Tip: Stables and Garden cottage will be quietest. Other Cottages have the best access to the adventure playground and the games room.

We stayed in Crab Apple cottage in August 2009. It was ideal for us as we took the dog with us and the cottage we stayed in had an enclosed garden. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Fitted with all modern cons. The only thing that spolied the weekend for us was the good old british weather! We will definately go back.

Room Tip: Crab Apple Cottage sleeps 2. You can either have 2 large singles or one huge double bed. Just let Rosemary know when booking

How good to stay in a cottage that has been so thoughfully converted, everything matched, all the equipment was in very good condition, (not the normal tat often found in rental accomodation). We must say that we are fussy over cleanliness, our property was spotless. In fact he whole holiday experience was faultless, from intial enquiry to check out. This place is very comfortable and peaceful, with lots of helpful bits left for guests, walks from the door, maps supplied, good ready meals, farm produce and preserves sold by owner, Rosemary is a lovely person to deal with. We will definately return.
Of interest, great fish n chips at the Shambles in Settle, with good Indian "R-Spice" behind chippy. Best of all is the Craven Arms at Giggleswick, (2 miles away) this really is worth a visit

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our few days at Layhead Farm Cottages and wished we could have stayed longer. The cottage was light, airy and beautifully furnished with lovely views from every window. The location was very quiet and restful. We enjoyed the sheep, cows and chickens. The farm walks were theraputic and we had fun playing table tennis and table football in the games room. Layhead Farm Cottages are situated in a central part of Yorkshire for touring the Dales with interesting quaint villages and stunning countryside all around. Can't wait to go back.
