We stayed at The Leeway during March for my hubbys birthday and had a very pleasant stay. The breakfast table was scattered with "happy birthday" confetti on the morning of his birthday and a bottle of wine in our room in the even ing which I thought was a lovely touch. Both Garry and Karen were there to greet us and happy to answer any questions we had on the area. The room was just as described on the web page and the breakfast was lovely. If we return to Whitby this would definately be where we would stay

Room Tip: We stayed in the Scoresby which was on the 1st floor, lovely room with all the extra promised

We stayed in the Leeway during a flying visit to Whitby last week and were extremely impressed. Upon arrival we had a very warm welcome from Garry, and greeted with a warm drink.

The room was excellent, very spacious, and extremely clean. The breakfast was lovely, with the option of having daily specials if desired. Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Whitby.

We have stayed at The Leeway before and this excellent B & B continues to impress.
From the greeting with tea and cake on arrival to the clean and comfortable room and choice of specials each day for breakfast Karen and Garry made our stay in Whitby really memorable.
The service throughout our stay was friendly and efficient without being intrusive and it is obvious that the owners really enjoy going the extra mile to provide those extra touches that make a holiday special.
The room ( Stoker ) was spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. Parking, as with everywhere else in Whitby, can be a problem, but it was usually possible to find a roadside space close-by.
All in all highly recommended.

On arrival we were welcomed by Garry and Karen and offered a drink and slice of chocolate cake, after we were shown to our room, The Stoker, which was incredibly clean and well appointed and perfect for a comfortable stay, it even had a Tassimo, which was most welcome and ideal for that early morning brew!.
The breakfast offered was either a daily special,or a traditional grilled breakfast, being a little unadventurous when it comes to food we chose the grill and were not disappointed, the food was spot-on and very well presented, along with the grill there was a great choice of fresh fruit, assorted cereals and home made yogurt ( try it,its great!) along with various preserves to put on your toast.
This was our first visit but definitely not our last as its one of those rare establishments that feels just right the minute you walk through the door, we cant recommend it enough.
Perfect accommodation, great food and the perfect host, what more can you want.
Highly recommended

An excellent and reasonably priced B+B very close to the city and some of the main attractions. Karen and Garry offered a great service and they certainly lived up to the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. The rooms were warm and spacious. The hot drinks machine was a great touch, especially if popping back to the B+B for refreshments in the afternoons. We noted lots of little touches which made our trip even more enjoyable. The breakfast kept us going until our evening meal and there was plenty of choice at the table. The hosts were happy to share local knowledge and offer directions. The restricted check in restricted times were of no inconvenience. We simply parked up outside (free) and went for a wander. There's plenty to do. I hope we'll be back again soon.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Cook, very true to picture. Attic and single currently under refurb.

This is an excellent B and B. The attention to detail is first class and the service too. We had slight problems with a coffee machine and a light. These were attended to promptly and efficiently. My only slight quibble would be the 2.5% charge for card payments. This is justified for credit cards but not for debit cards. I think it a shame that the final point of the stay leaves the possibility of a client feeling a bit miffed. Nevertheless the owners deserve praise but their hard work in creating a place that is certainly a cut above the normal B and B.
