The location is idyllic, perfectly placed right on the harbour. Parking is slightly difficult, you need to park on an on-street loading space, take your cases to the hotel and then park the car a few hundred yards away on the street, once the time limited spaces expire.
The hotel is probably better described as a restaurant with rooms, that is not to decry the service in any way, moreover to stress just how good the restaurant is. The welcome is very warm, tea and coffee are available by room service free of charge. The rooms are great, we stayed in room 3, friends in room 4, both beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Room 4 has a feature bath and clearly has an edge.
In the daytime and evening, there is relaxed live music from a number of artists, using the electric piano. We loved it, very relaxing, very entertaining. The food in the restaurant is not surprisingly fish focussed, given that the trawlers are tied up just outside. It is well priced, well delivered, and quite contemporary. The breakfast was one of the best that I have ever come across, very varied, great quality. Eggs Benedict was a real winner.
Probably not a good choice for any disabled travellers, the access and parking would be challenging. There were some children in the restaurant, who seemed to enjoy the experience just as well as the adults.
