Ye Olde Beehive Inne
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 29 July 2014

Ye olde beehive inne is a beautiful old country cottage run by two lovely people. When we first arrived we were greeted outside by Keith, given a warm welcome and made to feel at home from the word go. The building is full of history with a nice seating area on the front that you could lose days relaxing in. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and have everything you need. In the evening we went to the bar for a few drinks and again Keith and Mandy couldn't do enough to make us feel at home. Breakfast was amazing with many many options available. We even booked to stay again before we left ye olde beehive inne!
Thank you for making your home feel like our home for our short stay, looking forward to our next visit.
If you are going to Whitby this is the place to stay.

If you don't like a warm and genuine welcome from the owners Keith and Mandy :- Don't go
If you don't like a spotless bedroom and bathroom :- Don't go
If you don't like a good nights sleep in a bed you don't want to get up from :- Don't go
If you like a wide choice of breakfast's cooked to order from fresh local produce :- Don't go
If you like a wide choice of gourmet evening meals cooked to order also from fresh local produce :- Don't go
If you do like of any or all of the above then give yourself a real treat and book into The Old Beehive Inne that is located a few moments from the new Whitby park and ride bus station, which is a god send as parking in Whitby can be a nightmare.
Thanks Keith and Mandy we had a great break.

We live local and having read the good reviews on Ye Olde Beehive Inne we decided to have a birthday meal there. We rang and enquired whether we needed to book and was told to just "come along".
We arrived at 19.15 to find the door locked and a "closed" notice in the window???? We knocked loudly on the door and a small window opened upstairs and a gentleman popped his head out and said he would come down???? On opening the door we were asked if we were the "missing guests" !!! What missing guests? No, was our reply we are here to eat!!! We were shown into the bar, which was empty and didn't look like it was expecting anybody!!! Oh no have we made a mistake??? The landlord (man with head out of window) offered drinks and continued to tell us the story of the missing guests! Lol! We seated in the window and the landlord continued to regale us with tales and even serenaded us with his acoustic guitar!!! I'm looking for the nearest exit to make a run for it!!! We asked for a menu and was told it was being written on the board and would be out soon! The menu arrived and had a small selection of meals! At this point residential guests arrived and a period of exceptionally good banter commenced! The Landlord taking part also! By now I'm sure you are thinking oh no don't go there but despite the slightly "Fawlty Towers" start we can only say to the Landlord and his family "Well Done" The food was exceptional and the atmosphere was extremely pleasant! We will recommend this place to friends and will most certainly be visiting again!! Thanks "Keith" you are a character and a good host!! From Mr & Mrs Boulby

We have just returned from an evening meal and boy do we feel full and happy! A great choice on the menu and all expertly cooked by mine host's son. Even a special dietary need for one of our party was no trouble and the lamb was melt in the mouth, the lobster was delicious with great bowls of chips and veg. Desert was all home made and we ate every scrap out of sheer greed! Far too good to waste. The bar has just been refurbished but the welcome was just as I remembered. Go on, spoil yourself and give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

For my birthday this year my wife and I thought we would go back to the beehive inn again,as we had such a good time there last year. Well we was not disappointed at all, yet again Mandy and Keith, gave us such a warm welcome. With Rebecca their daughter serving us our evening meals, in the bar in front of a very warm and cosy coal fire, it was so pleasant. The evening meals and the breakfasts are all made with fresh local produce ,that they are all ways very tasty and the helpings are big.
Mandy and Keith are exceptional good hosts, Keith even found time too give me some guitar lessons, and with Mandys great sense of humour we had such a good laugh . The rooms was newly decorated which was very nicely done, the beds are so comfy you never want to get up . Please ignore any bad reviews, try it for yourself you will not be disappointed. Thank you again Mandy, keith and Rebecca, for making our weekend so lovely. We will be back again for sure.
