My wife and I stayed at this lovely old inn about 20 years ago, when it was a lively pub with a selection of good ales and food. The same couple still run the place, but seem to have lost interest. So now it retains very nice (but overpriced) rooms, but has two (reduced to one while we there) ales on tap. The inn sign says 'Fine Dining', but there is now only a blackboard with a few main courses (no starters or sweets), which are of average quality and considerably overpriced. The first night we were there no drinkers came into the pub until a few locals arrived after 10pm. On the second night nobody at all came in. So actually this is no longer a pub. It's a very small hotel (3 rooms), with a bar.

Room Tip: One room has a bath, but insufficient hot water for more than one bath.

Our stay at the beehive inn was so relaxing! Absolutely beautiful rooms and even better hosts, Mandy and Keith are two of the warmest kind hearted people We have ever come across, nothing was too much trouble for them. We booked to stay there again before our stay was even over ! The breakfasts were gorgeous with lots to choose from, and the evening meals were out of this world. All in all Just amazing! We can't wait to return at the end of the month for another dose of ye olde beehive inn ! <3 x

No, we did not stay at the Inn but we were staying in the village and found the Inn to be one of the friendliest places we have ever visited for a drink or a meal during our stay in Yorkshire. The host, Keith, is the epitome of gregariousness with a fund of local knowledge which is well worth mining. The food was absolutely excellent and if you are lucky and Keith is in the mood you might get a few snatches of some live music and a briefing on the local arts scene. A genuine family atmosphere. If you are not a resident, it might be good to phone in advance or knock on the door around 7.00PM to say you might want to eat later. The owners seem ready to fit in with any reasonable arrangement and we have never quite come across this welcome and relaxed an approach anywhere else in our travels.

Ye olde beehive inne is a beautiful old country cottage run by two lovely people. When we first arrived we were greeted outside by Keith, given a warm welcome and made to feel at home from the word go. The building is full of history with a nice seating area on the front that you could lose days relaxing in. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and have everything you need. In the evening we went to the bar for a few drinks and again Keith and Mandy couldn't do enough to make us feel at home. Breakfast was amazing with many many options available. We even booked to stay again before we left ye olde beehive inne!
Thank you for making your home feel like our home for our short stay, looking forward to our next visit.
If you are going to Whitby this is the place to stay.
