We had a really relaxing time staying for a weekend at Hudsons. The rooms are well equipped with some really nice features not found in many other B&B's. The breakfasts are all freshly prepared, with a good choice on the menu. With a location close to the top end of Town getting around is really easy.

Stayed at Hudsons for my birthday weekend 18th Oct 2013. I love coming back to Whitby & have stayed at various B&B/ hotels over the years. I have to say Hudsons has been one of the best! We had a small attic room with beams but was tastefully decorated, good quality fittings and very quiet. The shower room was small but functional with a lovely hot powerful shower. Cleanliness was excellent throughout and the double bed was extremely comfortable. Cooked breakfast was 10/10 with friendly staff & lovely open fire. Will visit again & hopefully try one of the larger rooms that we sneaked a peak at as we made our way down the stairs.

Room Tip: Attic rooms small but perfectly formed & very quiet. If staying for more than the weekend then r...

My partner and I stayed at Hudson's for four nights during Whitby Goth Weekend. We found our hosts good humoured and hospitable. Hudson's is well situated on the West Cliff, with excellent access into the town centre.

Our room was new and effectively decorated, with a great shower and small but clean bathroom. On that, we knew ours was one of the smaller rooms but we didn't mind as we were out most of the time. We had a sneaky look at a couple of the larger rooms, and they looked really nice, with lovely furnishings. Overall, our room was very comfortable and clean with a decent bed. It was good value too, considering lots of folk put their prices right up during Goth Weekend.

The breakfast was well cooked and substantial. Served promptly and with a smile.

In conclusion, we had a really good four night stay at Hudson's and would both recommend it to others and return ourselves. Thanks, just what we needed.

Dan and Zoë.

We booked 2 nights at Hudsons because of the great reviews on TripAdvisor.

I have mixed feelings about the visit; the location is good, the building is interesting, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was very good.

But we were given a small room on the attic floor which has a roof beam running through it. So you can't actually move on one side of the room without ducking around this large piece of wood at chest or head height.

That is not restful. Especially if you might walk into it in the middle of the night; good job we don't sleepwalk!

I can understand why people have left good reviews for Hudsons, and I can imagine with a different room, I might have left one too.

So I might stay there again; but not in Room 12.

Room Tip: Room 12 has a wooden roof beam running through it, which is unpleasant. The attic floor rooms might...

Booked Hudsons direct through their website and visited in October 2013 for a 70th birthday weekend.

On arrival, we were shown promptly to our rooms and given a choice of the ones still available. Rooms are extremely comfy, with big welcoming beds, Freesat TV, tea and coffee facilities and nice ensuite shower rooms. The rooms have clearly been decorated recently as they are very clean and modern.

Breakfast is extremely good. You are invited to put your order for breakfast in by 10pm the night before using a very simply paper slip system in the entrance hall - a system that works well and saves time and waste! The breakfast was huge (if you opted for the full works!) and included all the usual suspects and really good quality produce. It was all cooked fresh and served promptly.

Hotel is located perfectly, within a 5-10 minute walk of the seafront and close to lots of bars and restaurants. We ate in Trenchers and Hadleys fish restaurants and would highly recommend both.

In short, an excellent B+B that is better located, run and presented than many high end chain hotels!

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear of the building seem quieter. Rooms high up in the building involve a lot of stair...

Yes me and the wife fancied a weekend in Whitby. So we thought lets check the top hotels out on the tripadvisor. We got booked in at the No1 'Hudsons' roughly 3 weeks in advance, we were chuffed. Off we went to whitby yey. We thought the hotel had a great location, a stones throw away from pubs and shops, we got parked at the end of the street there was loads of spaces. The staff were very friendly, we got a nice warm welcome on arrival and loved our room it was beautiful. Yep the 'Hudsons' deserves to be top of the trip advisor, excellent value for money! Comfortable and clean was like home from home, well cleaner than our house ha ha. We liked there style!.... Breakfast was the best as well mm mm. Have a guess where we will be staying the next time we go to Whitby :) :) :)

Huge room with a very comfy bed, small shower room was clean and modern, although the fluffy towels were a bit small. Pre-ordering breakfast is a great idea and the dining room with the fire going was lovely - excellent muesli and endless coffee! We had to park a short walk away, although were able to unload outside - great convenient, clean location.
