Me and t'other arf went for fish (haddock) and chips and a brew. Nothing flash or fancy place looked clean and we were served by good staff. Chips were nicely cooked fish was flakey and nice & white. Batter was a bit soft at the bottom but hey it's cooked in oil what do ya expect. Nice pot of tea tho' & it's better than having a take away attacked by the greedy gulls outside. Reasonably priced, 2 fish 'n' chips wi' bread 'n butter & tea for 2 for less than 20 quid. Not like some we saw priced at £13.95 pp just for fish 'n' chips.

Had cod and chips, had better had worse, friend had the soup they said it was vegetable but you couldn't say what vegetables were in it. Young man who served was pleasant enough and the place was clean. not much more I can say.

I was unfortunate enough to order lunch here a couple of weeks ago. Pie, garden peas and chips. The peas were cold and whoever had sloshed them onto the plate had failed to drain them so the pie pastry was wringing wet. The meat in the pie was grey and glutinous. Altogether a very nasy experience and will never return. Totally inedible.

We visited Whitby on this weekend and rather than go to a pub thought it would be nice to eat with a harbour view. How I wished we had walked right past. On the menu was 'homemade steak pie with a puff pastry' NO!! It was a few bits of tasteless meat in the toughest pastry you could imagine. 'Served with boiled potatoes' NO!! Mine was served with frozen chips which were so hard they might as well have been sticks. I told the waiter that I couldn't eat the meal and he said he would have a word with the chef? I didn't know a chef was needed to cook frozen chips!!
There was seven of us in our party and four of us left nearly all the meal. Service was slow and we were the only ones in. God knows how they would manage if there was a rush on. They had ran out of potatoes, they had ran out of cream. Absolutely awful, we left and got a burger. If you like good home cooked food go elsewhere.
