We stayed at The Seacliffe with our little black lab and enjoyed the weekend. The hotel is well located for walking the dog but a little far to town centre if you were not very mobile. The pubic areas are well presented and the food is great, parkng available outside which is a bonus. The dog friendly room is small and right at the top of the hotel (three flights of stairs) however you do get a sea view. We would stay again and would recommend to family and friends.

We turned up at the hotel and were lucky to get a room for the night.
The hotel was clean and warm and very friendly. The breakfast in the morning was gorgeous. The hotel is situated right on the sea front at the very top end of Whitby. If you have trouble walking then the distance to the town via lots of steps could be a problem.
All in all it was a nice hotel and cannot pick any fault with it at all.
We paid £80.00 for the Saturday Night maybe a little high considering we did not have a sea view but a view at the back of the hotel over looking the cricket ground.
All in all a nice hotel.

Just had a short stay at the Seacliffe Hotel and was very pleased with all aspects of the hotel. Very friendly staff, good food. It seems to me that thompsonbp in his review is just trying to cause trouble ( perhaps a jealous competitor ). I would hope everybody would ignore him / her

Have returned today 11.9.10 from a 3 night stay at the Seacliffe - we had a seaview room which was lovely and had recently been refurbished to a high standard everywhere in this hotel is spotlessly clean and the breakfast was excellent. We found all the staff very welcoming and friendly. Would definately book here again next time we are in this part of the country.

We stayed here with our dog for 4 nights in July. It was a very pleasant stay, just right for us. The room was quite small but adequate and the bed was comfy. Couldn't have a sea view when you have a dog with you but the view of the cricket ground was nice. Good breakfast, pleasantly served. Friendly staff. Just across from the sea. Was easy going down to the beach, not so easy coming back up, although there was a lift for some of the day at a cost of 60p which we used once, for speed. We were lucky with the weather and walked the 2 miles or so across the beach to the next village along and only met a few dogs and their owners. Dogs were not allowed on part of the main beach, which was fine with us because children were playing there, but there are always people who disregard the rules, which is annoying. Difficult though when you take children AND a dog/s with you! Small car park but we managed to park and didn't use the car again until we went home. We went on the open top tour bus and hopped on and off the steam trains, all dog friendly. Apart from that, we walked for miles. We enjoyed ourselves, and Tess had a smile on her face - she'd never seen so many dogs in her life, great fun.
