We have been here several times now and were were not disappointed as the service was as excellent as always. This place has got it right from the major issues to the small details. Nothing is too much trouble for the manager Mark and his fantastic staff. The room was lovely, the pool relaxing (there are childrens hours which is a bonus), the breakfast was very good as ever. We have recommended this hotel to many people and always had good feedback. We will definitely be back.

Saw this hotel a while ago - on paper ticks all the box's i wanted : Luxury, accepts dogs, with a swimming pool, & with some great coastline within walking distance. Finally got to visit & so glad we did as it lived up to expectations!
We were in a courtyard room with bedroom on 1st floor which makes the living area much more easy to relax in. A quick min across to the main hotel entrance for meals, pool etc. and a min round corner from the gardens. The bed was huge and very comfy, and the room had plenty of storage for the boots/coats required at this time of year :-) The whole place is finished to a high standard and the food is lovely - particularly liked the breakfast options.
The dog was catered for with bowls, bed & menu - but the only downside was not allowed in any internal areas - usually a small area of the bar is provided, so they don't have to stay on their own in the room.
its only 10 mins walk to the beach at Sandsend, where there is also a great pub. Will definetely return for another stay

Room Tip: its quite a walk from "The Keep" to main hotel if you want to use the facilities such as s...

I would thoroughly recommend this luxury hotel. This is a true retreat and you feel well rested after a weekend here. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the best service I have experienced. This is my second visit in one year.

I chose this hotel to celebrate my 50th birthday, and I am so pleased I did. Everything is first class, it's difficult to know where to start. I hate top quality hotels that are so pretentious you feel uncomfortable - this hotel thankfully is not one of them. The staff are second to none, nothing is too much trouble; they manage to combine innate professionalism with the right amount of approachability and friendliness - you get the same level of attention from each one, which is very rare in my experience. The rooms are of a very good standard, and the fabulous concierge who greeted us made sure we knew how every feature worked - including the underfloor heating in the bathroom, which is great in mid winter! There was also a bottle of champagne waiting for us - a really lovely, personal touch. We ate in the Poachers Bar the first night and the Brace Restaurant the second - both meals were outstanding, as was the breakfast. It's very difficult to find fault with the quality of the food and, again, the service. We were also booked in for a treatment at the spa, which was fabulous. If I'm being picky, the swimming pool/jacuzzi area was quite busy, there was a lot of standing water around the pool and I think this area will need extending as the hotel becomes more popular. However, this did not detract from our enjoyment of this facility. The grounds are so beautiful and well tended and we would definitely consider returning to stay in one of the cottages or the fabulous Lake House.
Overall I can't speak highly enough of this hotel. I cannot wait to return.

We stayed here for a two night break in January and were really pleased with the high level of both the service and the facilities. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly, professional staff.
We would highly recommend Raithwaite for its level of cleanliness and the beauty of its surroundings. Even on rainy days in January we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We are quite hard to please when dining out but felt happy to send our compliments to the chef for the amazing food he produces.
