Liked the location and the breakfast which was included in the price of our hotel. Full English, hot plentiful, and well cooked. Did enjoy it.

Absolutely terrible! The fish was the size of a sprat, never seen takeaway cartons so small & £6.80 for chips & gravy, fish on its own!! Disgraceful

Wet soggy chips, low quality jumbo sausage, low quality thin curry sauce.
On the plus side it was a reasonable price and hot.

As a resort famous for its fish, whenever in Whitby we always have some of its freshly caught cod/haddock – with chips, of course!
We usually eat at either Trenchers or The Magpie Café but on this trip, we found an alternative venue that definitely bears scrutiny. The Quarterdeck, adjacent to the start of the pier, served us with some great fish and chips with a slice of lemon, side salad, tartar/tomato sauce, bread and butter and a pot of tea for two for half the price of our usual haunts. The service was quick, friendly and efficient and, as you can tell from this, we have changed our allegiance!
