“Enjoyable stay”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Dunsley Hall Hotel over the weekend. The hotel was a lovely with a very oldie worldie charm about it. The rooms and overall hotel were very clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. We had a great time and wished we could have stayed longer, but will definitely be back again.

Room Tip: Room 18 was brilliant, cosy and comfortable.

Spent last night at dunsley . Lovely food and attentive service . Comfy bed . Nice touch reminder to put clocks back . Came up trumps with gluten free bread at breakfast and chef adapted the choice at dinner to make gf . Don't expect modern decor the title says it "country house".

Visited this hotel in the summer for lunch and it was lovely so decided to go back on an evening. We were not disappointed. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. We are hopefully planning an overnight stay in the new year. We would strongly recommend the restaurant.

We visited here at the end of the summer for a little weekend break on the recommendation of a family member. Having paid full price we expected it to be pretty awesome, and although the room as nice it was not worth the price tag. Our room was large and clean ( although two beds pushed together), we were woken, or should I say kept awake by the children bouncing about all evening, wailing and screaming and running up and down the stairs outside the room like it was a playground. It would be nice if parents could control their children and be less selfish, but also perhaps it would make more sense to place families with three children on the ground floor, or maybe tell them politely to keep the noise down?! We had no complaints about the cleanliness, and the water was hot, and the beds comfy, but the food lacked a vegetarian option for myself which meant we could not eat at the hotel. The breakfast was lovely the first day, but my partners full English was literally half the size the second day and had been sat under a hot plate. Due to lack of amenities for the price I can't see us returning unless we got a deal price, although from the reviews it looks like that would result in a poor room.

Haven't stayed at the hotel so can't comment on rooms. However, my wife and I went for an evening meal and it was superb. We had the 3 course, which turned out to be 8, for £35. The presentation was outstanding and the flavours as good as it looked. Would definitely go again, maybe staying over next time

Paid £160 for room and breakfast, which we paid for in advance, via the internet. On arrival we were allocated a nice room in the annex, which was a pity really as we would have liked to have stayed in the fantastic main house. However the room was very pleasent with French doors opening onto a garden. The bed was massive, lovely and comfortable with excellent pillows and linen. Refreshment tray, bottled water, flat screen tv, robes, free standing bath, but no shower.
We opted to have dinner in the restaurant - big mistake, 3courses @ £35 per person. the food was without doubt the worse we have ever had the misfortune to experienced, it was well presented, but each course was at best only just luke warm and tasteless. My main was returned to the kitchen for reheating but on its return was still luke warm!
Lovely hotel - terrible food.
PS: check your bill when checking out - we were overcharged by a hefty £120!!!!

Room Tip: Don't eat in the hotel restaurant - over priced, luke warm and tasteless. Check your bill before...

Took my parents to Whitby for the first time thought we should stay in a nice hotel and we found this one! it is about 5 miles out of Whitby going North just off the coast road. Rooms done to a nice standard and could not find any faults.

Parents said they enjoyed their stay.

We did not have an evening meal as I am a pub person and wanted to get to the closest pub which was the Bees Hive in the next village.

We all enjoyed the breakfast and would be happy to go back
