We stayed here as a group of 4, when we arrived Pippa was baking scrummy cakes so the house smelt gorgeous. We was shown to our rooms which were spotless with samples of home made cakes on the tea tray. The en-suites were also spotless with shower & bath in one room & bath in other. Pippa even offered to run us to town which is only a15 min walk away. If you intend to eat in town you do need to book as everywhere was full.
The beds were extremely comfy with memory foam mattresses . The breakfast next day was fab, just the job after a heavy night. Veg option is available as is Whitby kippers. A walk along the cliff tops to town after breakfast is well worth the trip to wake you up !
I can't recommend this B&B enough excellent value

Room Tip: 1 room has both shower & bath

Our stay at the Dyma-Ni was faultless, we arrived early with friends as we were going to the Whitby 60's music festival show that started at 12pm, Pippa showed us to our rooms which were absolutely spotless, there were chocolates, busicuits and home made cake in each room. It was about a 10 minute walk into town. The breakfast menu had a huge variety and was excellent. We would definitely stay here again and have already passed the details onto many of our friends and work colleagues, if your planning a trip to Whitby this is the place to stay

Where to start. I literally cannot recommend Dyma Ni highly enough. My girlfriend and I needed a B&B for the night in Whitby because we were attending a friend's wedding. We decided on this place because of all the glowing Trip Advisor reviews, and we were not disappointed!

As we arrived, we were parking outside, when we were greeted by Pippa, who invited us to park in the drive. We were greeted by name, and couldn't have been more warmly welcomed. As I said in the review title, it was just like going to stay at a relatives' house.

We were shown personally to our room, which was just at the top of the stairs, and told where everything was, and was urged not to hesitate to let them know, should we need anything at all. We were given fresh milk so we could make ourselves a cup of tea. There was a kettle, and a selection of hot chocolate, Yorkshire tea, and fruity tea. All of which were delicious. There was also a tin with some home made cake in. Lemon drizzle cake, and berry muffins. Both were divine, and melted in the mouth. And how can I forget the nicely wrapped butter biscuits which went wonderfully with the fresh cuppa! Also on the mirror cabinet in the corner were some glasses, a bottle of water, and some Belgian chocolate seashells. We really spoiled when we entered that room!

The room itself was pristine and homely. It was beautifully clean and tidy, and exquisitely presented. There was a nice big wardrobe, drawers, a mirror cabinet, a lamp on either side of the bed, a television with FreeSat, a nice big comfy double bed, and a beautiful view of the quaint and quiet area from the window. The bathroom was equally beautiful, with a bar of mint hand soap which looked like it was handmade, and smelled wonderful, and some soap, shower gel, and shampoo/conditioner for the shower.

We mentioned to Pippa when we arrived that we were going to a wedding, and we were kindly offered a lift to the church where the wedding was being held, and shown the place where the reception was going to be, so we would know how to get there after the service. Pippa recommended some taxi numbers for getting back at the end of the night, and told us that if we had any problems getting in when we got back, not to hesitate to ring her mobile, no matter what time it was. I know I've mentioned this already, but it really was like staying with family, only with the kind of stay you'd expect from a 5* hotel. When we got back from the wedding, we had the most amazing night's sleep.

The next day, we went down for breakfast. We were greeted again with the most sincere warmth, and offered a selection of cereals and fruit juice, tea or coffee, a selection of fresh toast, then asked what we wanted for breakfast, and had bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms black pudding, tomato. All were cooked beautifully and tasted delicious. We left that table happy and full!

When we checked out, we were toying with the idea of going into Whitby before going home, since the weather was nice. Pippa told us some places in Whitby where we would be able to park, and said that if we wanted to walk then we could leave the car parked in the drive. She gave us walking directions and told us where everything was in Whitby. It was a short walk into Whitby, and was delightfully quiet and scenic.

Pippa really did go out of her way to make our stay in Whitby most enjoyable. This bed and breakfast would be beautiful to stay in even without the friendly service that we received, but the service was the icing on the cake. If we go to Whitby again, we know exactly where we'll be staying!

5 stars, excellent service, highly recommended!

Dan and Deb

Small, family run bed and breakfast, only two rooms makes this a perfect retreat from busy lives. We stayed for one night after completing the Cinder Trail from Scarborough to Whitby. Storage space for bikes as well.

Lots of little quirks and personal touches; I could quite happily wake up in this room every day - totally peaceful. Tea, chocolate and coffee along with homemade cakes and biscuits - delicious (ate them all)

Breakfast was divine with homemade jams which are also available to buy.

We will definitely be going back, Pippa and Paul were a very lovely couple.

I was searching for accommodation in Whitby for a one night stay for myself, my partner and my parents as we had arranged to meet relatives at the end of their coast to coast walk. I didn't realise that many places have a two night stay policy at the weekends but luckly, after a long search, Pippa and Paul at Dyma Ni were able to offer us accommodation.

I am so happy that we stayed here. On arrival, Pippa was very friendly and welcoming and showed us to our rooms, which were beautifully decorated and furnished and immaculately clean. Each room had a tin of delicious homemade cakes and Pippa brought us fresh milk so we could enjoy a brew and a cake after our journey from Manchester. There were also chocolates and a card with a welcome message which I thought was a lovely gesture. The rooms had a vintage feel but without being too chinzy or too old fashioned.

My partner and I had a double room with a large, modern, ensuite bathroom with a separate shower. My parents had the room with a smaller shower room but they were still very happy with their room with a king sized bed and plenty of wardrobe space.

The B&B is about a 15 minute walk away from Whitby. We discovered a nice pub called The White House along the way, which was a welcome sight on a hot, sunny day as it had a lovely beer garden overlooking the sea where we enjoyed a drink in the sun before continuing into Whitby. It would still be a convenient location for people to stay even if they do not enjoy walking very far as it would only be a short taxi journey to Whitby. We thought the location was perfect as it was nice and peaceful away from the busy area of Whitby.

After a great night's sleep in the cosy bed, (only interupted by a squalking seagull in the morning) we enjoyed a tasty breakfast in the dining room. There was a choice of fruit juices, cereal, fruit and yoghurt, followed by a delicious cooked breakfast and plenty of toast, tea and coffee.

Overall, I can honestly say this is one of the nicest B&Bs I have stayed in. I cannot find any reason to fault this place and I would without a doubt return here and recommend Dyma Ni to my family and friends. Pippa is a great host and made us feel very welcome and at home.

Thank you Pippa and Paul!
