Fabulous Whitby B&B, just out of the town centre but near to several top-rated eateries and with excellent food of its own. We had the smallest room, which was still good-sized and the first attic room I hsve stayed in where I haven't kept banging my head on ceiling beams! Facilities in the room are also top notch. Sharon and Paul are wonderful hosts, who make every guest feel totally welcome and are very knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast options are fantastic, with plenty of choice and locally sourced or homemade items. You will also not be able to resist Paul's lemon curd or the cakes that greet you on arrival and which are availsble throughout the day. Hope to stay again soon.

I enjoyed a stay at the Abbotsleigh as part of a mini-break with my partner. We visited in July, and were very lucky with the weather, with Whitby beach resembling sunny Spain.

The Abbotsleigh is located just a minutes walk from the sea front, and only a further few minutes (and a fair few steps) away from the main tourist centre, which you can find your usual amusement, chip shop and souvenir shops. However, go a little further across the bridge and there are a wonderful selection of more quaint shops and cobbled streets to explore.

We stayed in the Seabiscuit room, which is situated at the very top of the bed and breakfast. The room was spacious and luxuriously furnished throughout. The room faced out onto the road, which is very quiet through the night. The room featured a magnificent wet room which was a joy to use. The bed was of a large size with beautiful sheets and was extremely comfortable, allowing a peaceful night’s sleep. The room features a television, plenty of storage room, a coffee machine and even comes with homemade cookies.

Breakfast is served in the front room and features everything you would expect. I enjoyed the full English on both mornings of our visit. The breakfasts feature locally sourced produce and there is a good choice – some of which you would need to request the day before.

Overall, we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Whitby and would not hesitate to visit again if ever we were visiting again. Sharon is wonderfully attentive host and made us feel most welcome.

Room Tip: Each room has a slightly different layout, theme and beds.

Definitely a good place to stay in Whitby! Very convenient position, easy walking distance from the centre of town - and very comfortable, with a great little coffee machine in our room. Sharon and Paul made us very welcome - the home made cakes were lovely, as was the breakfast. Whitby is a beautiful place for a seaside break, and the museum is MARVELLOUS - I will definitely go again, and when I do, I hope to stay at Abbotsleigh!

We booked a 3 night break for our wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived Sharon and Paul made us feel most welcome with cake and tea.
The room was very clean and spacious and the wet room was something else. Breakfast was fantastic, whether its the full english or the fortune kippers.
Abbotsleigh will now always be the place for us when visiting Whitby.
Thanks Sharon and Paul for making our anniversary stay special.

Just got back from two nights at Abbotsleigh with some friends. This was our second time there and yet again we were not disappointed. The decor has been completed to a very high standard and is immaculately clean and well maintained. We were welcomed warmly with tea, coffee and cherry cake( which one of our party specifically begged for) and Sharon and Paul obliged him with his request. Our rooms were outstanding with opulent furnishings and linen. Sharon and Paul were as friendly as always and very helpful with recommendation of good places to visit and places to eat. The fresh milk and home made cookies are a lovely touch, even though my husband and i always fight who is going to eat them even though you get several delivered daily. The breakfast was tasty and varied and the edition this year of eggs how you like them was good. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone and not feel worried that they may not enjoy it, the hotel inspector could not find fault with Sharon and Pauls place. Cant wait to return again.

Room Tip: Only five rooms all are superb

We were made really welcomed by Sharon and Paul. our room with en suite wet room was excellent . Fresh baked cakes and biscuits available with very good choice of coffee and tea with fresh milk in our room. Breakfast was cooked to perfection with lots to choose from. We cannot wait to return and would recommend Abbotsleigh highly to everyone.

Had a lovely few days in Whitby. Highlight was staying with Sharon and Paul they made us very welcome. Beautiful room with wet room all spotlessly clean. Freshly made cakes whenever you wanted, homemade biscuits in your room with very good choice of coffee and tea.If that was not enough the breakfast was cooked to perfection, spoilt for choice. We cannot wait to return and recommend it to anyone.
