Booked four rooms with family and friends, as had stayed here previously. Again all rooms were immaculate, excellent menu's and Paul and Sandra were great hosts. Wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend.

We picked this hotel for a couple of nights whilst visiting Whitby based on its excellent TA reviews and we were not disappointed. Paul was a very friendly and welcoming host and our room was very clean, well equipped and had stunning views. Amazing sea view from your bed and you can even see the abbey despite being quite far away. Comfortable beds and excellent bathroom with a drench shower as well as normal shower. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer! Would highly recommend Morningside and it is definitely value for money.

This is the second time I have stayed in this hotel now. However, I stayed for longer this time and paid extra for a larger room, which was definitely worth doing as it had been recently refurbished.

Despite this, I can say the other rooms are more than adequate. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. The food was fantastic and cooked fresh to order, I found that it was definitely worth requesting the 3 course meal. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the attention to detail here was of a very high standard.

The hotel is also right on the seafront!

On a final note, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and I cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: Well worth paying extra for a larger room, particularly if you are in Whitby for a longer stay.

You could not ask for better hosts than Paul and Sandra at the Morningside Hotel. Nothing is ever too much, they go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable and welcoming. We have been staying here a twice a year for the last couple of years and now it feels more than staying with friends than in a hotel.

Room Tip: We have stayed in several different rooms and never been disappointed each room is as good and the o...

Not many hotels and B&Bs in Whitby these days accept one night stays. For this alone I am grateful to Paul and Sandra. The whole experience was lovely, the rooms very well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast, excellent. We love our pre-Christmas stay in Whitby, it has become part of our tradition. Walking into a warm and welcoming hotel was the beginning of our fabulous weekend.

Hope to stay with you again.

Room Tip: sea view room

We've stayed in several B&Bs and hotels in Whitby over the years but, having discovered the Morningside on our most recent visit, this will be our hotel of choice on future visits. The hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment and our sea-view room was outstanding. It, along with the bathroom, was well appointed, comfortable and scrupulously clean. The lounge and the dining room have received similar makeovers and both are pleasant places to relax and eat in. The breakfast at the Morningside did not disappoint. Everything was very well cooked and the portions would satisfy even the heartiest of appetites! Excellent customer service is a real strength of this hotel. This, coupled with its excellent location and well appointed rooms, means that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Morningside to anyone.
