“What a great holiday”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

I have never been to this site before, but my husband has. He said it was a plus having the extra toilet block. I loved the pitch with a sea view and it was so close to Whitby we just walked all the time and only once took the car out to go and hire bikes. It was so relaxing not many children which was a plus for us. The staff were very friendly and helpfull nothing was too much trouble. Althrough the have seasonal pitches we found everyone staying there very friendly and meet some lovely people. Would go there agin another year. Thanks to the staff for making our holiday

Loved the area and the park was a bonus. Short walk into whitby or sandsend. Spotless facilities and lovely staff who were v.helpful. Not keen on dogs in the sites but thats just us as they were all under control and v.clean. Will plan for a return journey :)

Room Tip: All sites had fab views but peg down the awning for the winds :)

Going to be our third time this year to visit this campsite. We just love it there! Even our two teenagers love if here. Helpfull wardens, always time for a nice chat. Campsite very close to the beach. Toilets and showers are cleaned every day. Campsite looks nice.

We come here every year and will be back again next year. It has had quite a few added features since it was taken over such as a new shower and toilet block which is very nice, and a lot of effort has been made to make it a pleasant stay and most of all it is not a roudy site . Just a 20 minute walk into Whitby what more could you ask for :-)

Just came back and I am so disappointed site is in a lover let location but it has gone really down hill in the 7 or 8 years I've been coming here and to top it off the owners boyfriend decides to punch the staff in the face on saterday afternoon causing the police to be called.
The language on him was atrocious and my childeren heard it all, I will not be going back here unless the alcoholic owner and boyfriend realise what they need to do to get it back on track
Also a lot if seasonal pitch owners complaining of price increases wich if they put the pitch prices up any more without giving more services it's not worth the visit

Owner please take a stance and sort your loverley site out and get it back to the standards we all had 7 years ago

We visit this site regularly and have to agree that standards have fallen badly in the past few years. Sadly children are now very unwelcome, with sour faced overbearing wardens frowning on any fun. If you want a site where grumpy long term residents moan about everything come here. If you want a friendly clean site that welcomes children then go elsewhere.

This was our first ever camping trip and we hired a motorhome and wanted to stay in whitby for the first 2 nights of our travels. I had booked the campsite a good few weeks in advance and was told that we needed to book for 7 days to get one of the normal pitches and because we were less than 7 days we would be positioned in the "late arrivals" pitch. As this was the only option and the campsite looked so nice I said this was ok and asked if there would be a reduction in price to reflect this and was told no! On arrival the campsite was very well presented and we pulled up at the barrier and went into reception and paid for our 2 nights stay as it was payment on arrival. The staff we spoke to were very friendly and very helpful, then we were let through the barrier and the campsite looked very nice with some gorgeous views out to see and along the coastline down to whitby town. We were directed to our late arrivals pitch which was a little disappointing as it was in the car park!! All those lovely pitches with gorgeous views and we got to look at cars. This should really be a discounted pitch to reflect this surely?! However this is still a lovely campsite with friendly staff and there is a bus stop right outside the entrance. But the best way into whitby is along the beach and there is a path opposite the campsite that leads down to the beach were we walked along the sand right into whitby. The tide was in for our walk back but there is a path all the way along the shoreline. I would stay here again if they would either discount the late arrivals pitch or put us onto a "normal" pitch if we stayed less than 7 days. However, I would recommend this campsite for anybody staying 7 days or more.
