- this is a gift shop / café , -------went with 4 friends for lunch , I ordered ciabatta with cheese and bacon with red onion , looked very nice when it arrived but the bacon was uncooked on one side , requested it to be cooked more and a fresh one came but like the first - the bacon was uncooked on one side - this was returned to be re-cooked ,(albit after my friends had finished their meals ) the remainder of the meals were ok apart from a hair in the coleslaw bowl , quality overall was poor which did not reflect the price . myself and friends will not be returning

This cafe cum shop is a must detour from Sandsend. They sell unique items at a fraction of the price you'd pay in interior design shops. I bought a fabulous garden bench made from a tree root. My friends think it cost a fortune little do they know! I rounded off my visit with a lovely homemade cream tea and a friendly chat to the owners who really care that all visitors have an enjoyable visit. Thank you.

What a little gem this is! Even though were only about a 20 minute drive away I'd not heard of it until a friend recommended it. So today off we went to try it out. It's wonderful, the food is scrummy. I had ciabatta with bacon, cheese and marmalade chutney ( I bought a jar of the home made chutney, it was delicious) I had a side order of wedges with a choice of two dips, my friends opted for the chicken burgers which they both said I was gorgeous. We had a two year old with us who loved his homemade sausage roll. Claire and Melanie who served us were wonderful hosts who made a fuss of all there customers making everyone welcome. I suppose it may seem a little pricey but to me it was worth every penny. We bought cakes to take home which were devine. There is also a wonderful shop with beautiful furniture for home and garden and lovely home decoration things. I will be returning

It took a bit of finding but was worth the trip. it has on site a beautiful shop selling all sorts of gorgeous additions to your home. The food was beautiful and very filling and very reasonably priced.
