Really interesting harbour, clearly still used by fishermen. Great boat trips, small pier, views of Abbey and delicious locally caught seafood. Some good shops too!

Loved the fact it was near to all the guest houses. Lots of eateries but mostly fish and chips/seafood. Quayside fish and chip shop was particularly good. Plenty of gift shops and ice cream shops. Parking in that area was difficult so we left the car at B&B and walked as it was so close. Lovely views. Toilets were awful tho and need updating.

Arrived at tthe North end via Sandsend , and though how pretty, affluent and prestigious it all looked.......then we parked and walked into the town which certainly had lots of quaint old cobbled streets & cute little shops etc. However it was HEAVING with tourists and most restaurants cafes etc had long queues outside. The church and Abbey are a must if you like culture & history etc but it it ends there...when you walk down to the sea front it is vile; cheap tacky nasty amusement arcades, chip shops, funfair rides, so-called "fortune" tellers etc. Makes Blackpool look quite pleasant. Couldn't believe how one small tow c hanave so many different "faces". Wont be returning in a hurry!

It was very interesting to sit "people watching" and "seagull watching" at the Harbour! There is also a lovely view of the Abbey and the town.

A very good, well-kept park - pleasant to sit in with some quiet little nooks Very hilly, so may not be suitable for elderly or infirm. On a bus route, though, and the open-topped Tour Bus calls here, too. Good play area for children right at the top of the park. Museum in grounds is vey good.
