“KGB Deal”
Reviewed 24 March 2013

Myself & my partner bought the Kgb deal for our anniversary because we love Whitby.
While we where there we got engaged and bought a ring which is being made for me from Black Market Jewellery Work Shop, they are a fantastic jewellers. So when the Kgb deal came up for Bagdale Hall I jumped on it, I've always wanted to stay in this hotel. It's full of history and features it was built in 1516.
We stayed in the Georgian Lodge built 1770, which is just up the road from the main part. It was very clean and very comfy. The staff where very helpful to us both and we also got free parking which is a bonus. The breakfast was excellent we ate in the old part of the hotel which over looks the main road. The weather was a bit erratic but that did not spoil our weekend, we found a lovely pub The Elsinore that had live music on. All in all a excellent weekend very highly recommended. G&Sxxxxx

Stayed 2 nights in the main building, lovely large room, four poster very comfy bed Nice leather chesterfield and chair. Well equiped good bathroom. A really pleasant room to relax in. Free parking The location is perfect in the heart of Whitby The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was a high standard and we did not think overpriced for a hotel. Breakfast on the Monday was excellent and very enjoyable. The following day we were served tea and our order taken then waited 40 minutes for it to arrive one full breakfast which was ok and a dish of baked beans which arrived cold. It was a shame to leave on that note as we had really enjoyed our stay. A minor hic up I suppose, we would certainly stay again when we visit Whitby..

Room Tip: Rooms in the main hall are lovely, but the house and lodge are very nice and good value

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds with crisp cotton sheets, wonderful hot shower ( great after a day's walking) with huge towels. Room was very warm ( you need that on the East coast) although a little on the small side ( we were in the annexe rather than the main hotel). There is a lounge for guests. Breakfast was good, the usual cereals/ juice, the choice of full cooked English, omelettes or smoked salmon, toast & tea /coffee. All served by helpful, friendly staff only too happy to provide that extra pot! The hotel is very well situated close to town centre. Evening meals have good variety and are reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask to be in the main part of the hotel, the rooms there look stunning!

We have just returned from our second stay at Bagdale hall and it was excellent. The staff are very helpful and pleasant, and the rooms very warm and comfortable...essential in this winter weather. Our first stay was in the lodge....just a little walk up the road from the main hall, but very comfortable, clean and well facilitated. Our second stay was in the building next door but two to the Hall itself. The building was full of old world character, and we had a 4 poster bed, huge room, hall and bathroom. The hotel is very well situated in Whitby and I would definitely recommend it. Breakfast is full English and very well cooked. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed mussels in white wine for starter and steak pie for main....couldn't fit a pudding in.

Room Tip: The lodge rooms are the least costly and very good, so if you are on a budget and are not too worrie...

Have just returned from our second stay at Bagdale Hall. The hotel is very well placed for exploring Whitby or exploring further afield either by car or public transport. Bus stops or train station wihin walking distance of hotel.
. It was a second stay for us in the lodge. The room was very clean, warm and comfortable, Our friends who came with us had a lovely room with a four poster bed very spacious with easy chairs and a big bathroom. We ate one night in the restaurant and found the food good and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was very tasty both days with a good choice.
on the plus side all the staff were brilliant very aproachable and helpful. They even showed us round the rooms in the older part of the hotel which are huge and very atmospheric all having four poster beds.
We all enjoyed our break and would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
