We didn't stay here, but went there as we were looking for a pub/restaurant for dinner.
They are copying the Westherspoon style of dining (burger Monday, free drink with your rmeal etc.) but the food was very poor. The burgers were thin and clearly out of a packet, and the chips (french fries) were barely warm by the time they had got to us. The the only thing that appeared to be freshly cooked was a pineapple fritter (which was delicious). Very disappointing.

There was very little parking around the hotel so we parked in the harbour area and paid for 24 hour parking. the hotel is then a steep walk so anyone not able to get around would need dropping off before going to park. The hotel entrance was very inviting and the welcome was very nice, we were given our key and instructions to the room. Our room was quite small but the bed was comfy and the bathroom quite spacious, all was clean. The shower was very nice and we were able to alter the temperature on the heater. There were USB ports, so we could still use the lamps in the room. We had paid for a sea view which we got and we were also able to see the Abbey. The breakfast waa 7.30 - 10am, which was a nice time so we were not rushing, breakfast was cereal, toast, fruit & yogurt and a breakfast cooked to order, the staff were very attentive and friendly. Overall a great hotel, which we would have no problem returning to.

Room tip: Ask for a room with a sea view

We had a 2 night stay, room was a bit small, but noting really to complain about, great view of the abbey. Bed was a bit hard and I didn't sleep too well. Breakfast was amazing, best hotel breakfast I've ever eaten, great locally sourced food. Really friendly staff, they couldn't do enough for you. Parking awkward, had a 10 min walk from car, we had to pay £1 for the ticket and park in a named zone, which were hard to find. A lot of driving in circles. I would stay here again. The picture is a view from the room.

Stayed for two nights after visiting the UK
from Canada. We really enjoyed exploring beautiful Whitby and our stay at this hotel. Room on the third floor was spacious and clean with great views over the town’s rooftops. Staff were friendly and check in was easy. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. Parking was a little hard to find but that’s Whitby. Would definitely stay here should we ever visit Whitby again. Good value for money.
