My wife and I stayed for Saturday, Sunday and Monday during Whitby Folk Week. The room was clean, very tastefully decorated, very clean, excellent en suite. We were at the back so did not have the lovely view over the Crescent and to the sea but our view was out of the back over the roof tops to the harbour. The English breakfast was excellent and there was plenty of choice for non lovers of bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms, tomato and baked beans. On the last day I had scrambled egg and salmon on a toasted English Muffin. Superb! We will stay again and highly recommend it to others. The parking pass for our stay was a real bonus and made the stay great. Price wise it was good value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for a front view but our room at the back had a nice view also.

We stayed at Lavinia for 3 nights over the last weekend. The bedroom and bathroom were well decorated, clean and very comfortable. It felt very luxurious. The breakfasts were really nicely prepared and presented and our hosts were fine company.

Room 3 is magnificent!
Beautiful, enormous four poster bed (I've never slept so well!) two grand windows that opened widely onto a small balcony (not really suitable for standing on but still very pretty), sea in the distance (I woke up earlier enough one morning to see the sun rise over the ocean),& a reclining leather chair with foot stool by each window.
Little details that gave it that extra quality- Large flat screen tv that folded neatly against the wall, new shower gels, shampoo, soap, air freshener, tea & coffee, ironing board, a hairdryer & even a pair of binoculars to look out to sea with! The carpet was immaculately clean, plenty of cupboard space and a large, as well as small mirror.
The owners, John and Sarah were very welcoming, friendly (but not in a 'in your face' type of way), down to earth and approachable. John gave us the information we needed when we arrived & you knew where to go if you needed any help, otherwise they just let you get on without any bother.
We aren't really early birds but breakfast was worth getting up for!! There was a wide choice of breakfast options, including English cooked breakfast, vegetarian English cooked breakfast (with sausages!) as well as beans on toast, scrambled egg, toast, cereal, granola, Greek yogurt, fruit, the list is endless!
We had a perfect stay and highly recommend Lavinia House.
Many Thanks!
Amber

Have just had a two day stay at this fantastic guest house. We stayed 30th & 31st july and had room number 3. The view was first class , sat in leather armchairs in the large picture windows looking out to sea was very relaxing. The area was lovely and quiet. John & sarah were very friendly and accommodating. Our room and the remainder of the house was spotlessly clean, We had a very comfortable sleep the four poster bed was superb, the breakfast was first class. Would thorougly recommend a stay at Lavinia house. We will certainly be going back

Room Tip: Room 3 has four poster bed and fab view over the sea
