Sandpiper House is a charming and conveniently located B&B. My bedroom was large and comfortable with an excellent bed. The owners are lovely people who were unfailingly cheerful and helpful. The full English breakfast was delicious and a Whitby tradition, smoked kippers, were available for breakfast with a day's notice. The only downside was hearing cries of seagulls quite early some mornings, but then it's Whitby and they're omnipresent and just part of the town.

I certainly will stay at Sandpiper House the next time I get to Whitby.

This beautiful town house has been so beautifully cared for refurbished by Pete and Manetta, to offer really upto date and very plush accomodation, but still with a feeling of the tradition of staying in a guest house....the room had flat screen, stunning bathroom and beautiful taste (real attention to detail in all areas),. the breakfast was perfect and beautifully presented and we were really impressed with dining room. The guest house is 2 mins from the cliff and i found myself sitting on the bench by the whale bones taking in probably the best view in Whitby within a couple of minutes walk. Its hard to be impressed these days as there are far too many disappointing stays and holidays, but The Sandpiper was a breath of fresh air and a very very welcome opposite! I believe, as with anything its down to the people behind it and Pete and Manetta clearly care and put 110% effort into every area, but most of all, are lovely people, and were so thoughtful and helpful with my little toddler-and that goes a long way for me! I would reccommend the Sandpiper, we stayed in the hotel, and i know there are self catering apartments, which i didn't see, however I am sure if the Crofts have anything to do with them, they will be excellent. I have much less satisfactory stays in some of the top 5 * hotels! For me its about the genuine care and passion put in.

The owners Manetta and Peter could not have been more helpful, the suite was luxurious and very comfortable and the bathroom had a fantastic walk in shower, fresh kippers for breakfast were a real treat and brought fresh every day, the guest house is situated very close to the sea and armed with a street map kindly supplied by Peter we soon found our way around the town, this was our first visit to Whiby but hopefully not our last, we would definitely return to Sandpiper House.

The location is nice and central and the hosts are very pleasent and accomodating. The room was really clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed and the decor was simple and tasteful. There are no bad points to mention!
We had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely choose this place again.

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay at Sandpiper House. Peter and Manetta made us feel very welcome and the central location was perfect, in no time at all we could walk into the bustling town or down to the harbour. The breakfast was a real treat with many perfectly cooked options, nothing seemed to be too much trouble to provide. Very comfortable rooms with a taste of luxury that helped our short break feel a bit special.

Our room was beautifully decorated and the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Breakfast and service were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. The local kippers were particularly delicious. Lovely welcoming place to stay. We will definitely be making a return trip.

We stayed at Sandpiper house Friday through to Monday for my birthday the whole stay was utterly lovely, the B&B is literally 5 min’s walk from Whitby centre we arrived late on Friday night and Peter the owner meet us and had showed us where the parking space was. We hadn’t reserved this but by a stroke of luck it was free on our first night after that we managed to find street parking which Is very scarce in Whitby so the parking space was a blessing. We checking and walked down the road to a little super market and as we hadn’t eaten yet the room was lovely it was on the top floor and had a four poster bed and sofa in it with all the amenities coffee, TV the room its self was beautifully decorated and the bed was just right. I had 2 showers a day after all the walking we were doing and I never had a problem with the water being cold it was always piping hot.

Breakfast was included and was really good my husband had the full English and I had poached eggs on toast they were so great. Everything is very close to the B&B and there is a off licence down the road And a couple of nice restaurants this place is great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay so Thank you Peter and Manetta for making us feel so welcome and making our stay so special.
