I visited the old stable in june 2018 with my husband 2 grandchildren and my little Dog Tilly . We had an amazing time thier . So close to Whitby for special fish and chips . We liked the look of Country Cottage so we have decided to book that one for june 2019 .. We are all happy to be returning again .
Dog friendly. Easy access to Whitby and other coasts near by. Been before . Disappointedthis time cottage needs a overall of re vamping. needs painting. A good dusting. Doors skirting boards grubby. Oven cleaning smells and burns. Coffee tea sugar containers unclean. Oven gloves throw away. Picnic table covered in bird muck and cigarettes ash tray. Such a shame. Sorry for negativity but does need seeing to .
This was our 3rd stay at the cottages, would go much more if time allowed. Easy to find, plenty of parking. The heating was on when we arrived, it was very cold, thankyou Laurie It has everything you need except a freezer, however, there is a large supermarket at the end of the lane, so not a huge problem. Mattresses were comfy we slept well, instant very hot water and wifi connection was better than home. Kitchen and lounge space was nice and cosy just right for upto four guests. End cottage is right next to paddock with the sheep and assorted fowl roaming about. I spied a 'shed' (lodge house) at the other end of the field, very new, it looks fab. Nice little picnic area and a bench, didn't use this time as even though sun was shining the wind chill felt like -20! There is a cinder path to Whitby, but it's a short drive as well, parking charges are reasonable and it's free after 6pm. Plenty to do in Whitby, we were going to do the ghost walk but we were frozen so went back to cottage where it was warm. Perfect place to come if you're wanting walks and to get out and about, but equally excellent if you just want to chill in the let with DVDs or sit outside with a book. Pet and child friendly, we are self sufficient, but knew that the owner was about should we have needed him. The cottages are not high end, but they are warm, dry, comfortable and cosy, like coming home
Cottage was lovely, warm and cosy, everything beautifully clean all beds made up, there was everything provided .Plenty of parking outside of cottage.and lovely to look put onto countryside at every angle , chickens and ducks roaming around even saw a fox wandering across fields, Children loved games room and couldnt wait to get back, even a rafio in there if you wanted .Cottage located about five mins. From Whitby .Absoluty Fabulous.
I stayed at the country cottage with my son and his dog. The weather was fantastic and Whitby was wonderful! The cottage was a great size with all basic essentials catered for and very dog friendly. Unfortunately there were a lot of flies and some times overpowering stink of.. well, the country side! If you holiday in the middle of farm then only to be expected I suppose but not ideal to relax in! Even though we won't be visiting again due to the smell it was value for money and not far to Whitby centre thanks to all at the farm and country cottage for a unique stay!
Lovely location. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. All the facilities we needed for two nights. Feels very rural yet shops and supermarket are just two minutes away.
What can i say..... We've just got back from a lovely weekend away at Country cottage, absolutely everything was perfect. Lovely & peaceful, went to see the sheep & the pig didn't get to see the barking duck though but hopefully when we come again in 2 weeks time we'll see her. Everything was in the cottage that we needed, even washing up liquid! Would definitely recommend a few days away here!
