Just back from a 4 night stay for the Northern Soul weekender. Surprised to find High Tor under new ownership, but glad to say the high standards are still there. Gary and Sue are two lovely and attentive hosts and the place is spotless as usual. We stayed in room 2 which was superb as we didn't want to face the steps up to room 6 this time. Breakfast was excellent and we have no hesitation in recommending both the guest house and the owners. You will not get much better than this.

Great place with a big warm welcome. Clean and very nice overall accommodation. We stayed in the attic room (5) plenty of room for what we needed, great shower! Great nights sleep, comfy bed and lovely bedding. Quiet location, but 5 mins away from shops and not a long walk to the sea front. Breakfast was delicious, eggs were perfect, plenty of choice! Highly recommend, if your looking for some where home from home, then this is the place you want to be. Thanks for a wonderful break., we will be coming back!

Stayed 3 nights at high tor guest house, owners are very warm and friendly. We stayed in room 6 on the top floor so a lot of stairs to climb so you need to be fit! Fyi, Bathroom is narrow so if you're of big build I'd advise not to stay in this room. Very yummy breakfast, they provided everything you could think of. Only 5 minutes walk into the centre of Whitby. Already recommended to friends and family and we hope to be back next year.

Lovely guest house in a good location, visited last year & enjoyed it so much booked again for 2 nights in June. New owners since last year, who were very warm, welcoming & friendly. Lovely room with great en-suite (coincidently the same one as last year) Excellent breakfast. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Recently returned from 3 nights at High Tor, where we were made to feel very welcome by Gary & Sue. Had a wonderful stay; a spotless room & Yorkshire's comfiest bed; filling breakfast & good spot close to town & the coastline. Plus a great location for exploring the Moors. Would definitely recommend it to you all & and we plan to return next year.

Room Tip: Ground floor stay which was convenient with the baby.

Lovely owners, rooms very clean and modern power shower (we stayed on ground floor).Free Wifi in most rooms (didn't cover our room unfortunately). Only few minutes walk down the hill to the centre and the beach which was ideal and easy to park. Breakfast was excellent. Wonderful stay and would go there again

This guest house is decorated to a high standard throughout. All bathrooms are new and our bed was firm and comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean. The new owners are very welcoming and are naturally friendly. They are new to the area so are finding their feet with local knowledge, but are keen to learn from their guests! Breakfast was delicious. The house is in central Whitby and ideally located for all local attractions. We would recommend it completely.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor in the super-king de luxe. It was a long way up but the view over the moor...
