Wed 3rd August we headed off to Whitby for a break hoping to find somewhere to stay when we got there as we hadn't booked. (We had actually booked to stay in Bakewell Derbyshire for the show but had been let down that morning) On arrival we drove round and saw The Whitehaven standing proud at the corner of Crescent Avenue with a vacancies sign. There was a lovely warm welcome from Lane who showed us two rooms one en-suite and one with the separate bathroom which we chose. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts we had were excellent with a choice of cereals, yogurts, fresh fruits as well as full English, kippers etc, cooked by Simon. Both Lane and Simon were very helpful with providing info on where to eat out at night and with lots of leaflets handy for where to go in the day. We had a fabulous two night break, and wished it could have been longer. Many thanks to Lane and Simon for making it so worthwhile. We'll be back!!
