“A fabulous break!”
Reviewed 10 August 2011

Wed 3rd August we headed off to Whitby for a break hoping to find somewhere to stay when we got there as we hadn't booked. (We had actually booked to stay in Bakewell Derbyshire for the show but had been let down that morning) On arrival we drove round and saw The Whitehaven standing proud at the corner of Crescent Avenue with a vacancies sign. There was a lovely warm welcome from Lane who showed us two rooms one en-suite and one with the separate bathroom which we chose. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts we had were excellent with a choice of cereals, yogurts, fresh fruits as well as full English, kippers etc, cooked by Simon. Both Lane and Simon were very helpful with providing info on where to eat out at night and with lots of leaflets handy for where to go in the day. We had a fabulous two night break, and wished it could have been longer. Many thanks to Lane and Simon for making it so worthwhile. We'll be back!!

Room Tip: Room 4 was quiet, not over the main road, with a view of St Mary's church.

Second time we have stayed here for a weekend break and would recommend it to any of our friends, as mentioned in previous reviews this place is spotlessly clean and rooms are of modern decor. The breakfast is nicely cooked and very tasty. Nothing is too much trouble for Simon or Lane, if you fancy going to a local restaurant in the evening Simon will be happy to recommend one, we will definetly return next year. D&D. SHEFFIELD.

Simon & Lane are very good hosts- keen to make you welcome and comfortable throughout your stay. We stayed 4 nights, in a tastefully decorated bedroom, spotlessly clean-and towels changed every day. Only 3 miniutes walk from the Cliffs overlooking a lovely coastline. B & B next to a quiet Car Park- which was a bonus, as it is not easy to park in and around Whitby Town. Breakfast was especially memorable for me, because there was always, a big bowl of fresh strawberries and blueberries in addition to all the usual breakfast fare, eaten in the most comfortable and delightful breakfast room.. My husband and I both enjoyed our stay and would most definately re-visit Whitby which has retained its unspoiled architecture and image......great coastline and even more amazing the Yorkshire Moors. Whitby has a lot to offer most age groups and you could not be disappointed by booking into the Whitehaven.

Room Tip: THE WHITEHAVEN is good value-in good location so be sure to check location before booking to ensure...

Simon and Lane are quite laid-back but very switched-on and make it home from home with minimum intrusion. Very good value for money.
