My wife and I recently enjoyed an excellent three night stay at this gem of a guest house. It's difficult to add much more to the other splendid reviews without repetition. However it has to be said that this small guest house provides an unbeatable base to explore Whitby. It is a short stroll down to the harbour and shops, and an even shorter walk onto West Cliff with its magnificent views of the coast and abbey. There is a convenient and quiet public car park next door, and Simon even helped us out with on street parking. Simon and Lane made us feel very welcome indeed and nothing was too much trouble. The house is immaculate, inside and out, and the rooms are extremely well presented with some thoughtful touches. Simon's local knowledge was very helpful in suggesting new places to visit even though we are regular visitors to the area, and our hosts always found time to have a chat about how the day had gone. Breakfasts are a delight with a surprisingly wide choice on offer for a relatively small guest house. Full marks for everything. The Milburns set a very high standard for others to follow. Just hope we can re-book next time we visit Whitby.

Room Tip: We were in Room 1 which was furnished to a high modern standard. Although at the front of the proper...

My wife and I recently stayed at Whitehaven guest house
A quick two day stay (not realising it was
Goth weekend) fantastic hosts Simon and Lane nothing was too much
trouble even sorting a parking space in a very busy weekend. The location of Whitehaven
Is a bonus a 5 minute walk direct into Whitby harbour and shops, pubs and attractions.
It may sound like a cliché but the Whitehaven is the perfect guest house it ticks all the
Boxes and more ,and of course we will be staying there again ,maybe the next goth
weekend absolutely fantastic time.

We've just returned from our third stay at this lovely guest house. Simon and Lane are the best hosts anyone could wish for; the rooms are immaculate and modern with beautiful en-suites. Breakfast never disappoints! - fruit, various cereals, a variety of breakfast options including the full English. All the food is cooked to order and delicious! Coffee, tea and toast is free flowing! The Whitehaven is perfectly located to enjoy all Whitby has to offer. We've already booked our return visit!!

Title says it all. Whitehaven Guest House and hosts Simon and Lane are just excellent in every department. The welcome, efficiency and friendliness of our hosts and staff, the food, the service, the room, the cleanliness are all faultless. We couldn't recommend them more highly. If you need a B&B in Whitby/area look no further.

We stayed at Whithaven for a long weekend in a very cold January. We and our friends were apparently the only guests that weekend but that did not stop Simon and Lane from pulling out all the stops to make our stay a great one. The guest house was warm and spotlessly clean, our rooms were very comfortable, nicely furnished and well equipped (TV, tea and coffee, hair dryer, wifi etc), and the nice fluffy towels were changed every day. The breakfast was excellent and offered a good choice of freshly prepared options. The guest house is ideally located for the town centre and West Cliff attractions, and the perennial Whitby problem of car parking is solved by its being situated immediately adjacent to the large public car park. Given that we were also able to take advantage of their out of season "3 nights for the price of 2" offer, even the value for money was outstanding .
This Guest House is definitely one worth patronising.

Room Tip: One room appeared to have no en-suite facilities ... Worth checking.

Fantastic hosts that could not do enough for you with lovely staff too. Our room was clean and modern with a well stacked hospitality tray and lovely en-suite and quality toiletries. Breakfast was a treat with good quality ingredients that set you up for the day and great filter coffee :)
5 minute easy walk to Whitby with all it's attractions.
Simon & Lane deserve the praise given as they work so hard and it shows.
A credit to Whitby, we will be back!

We stayed at Whitehaven Guest house for 3 nights a few weeks ago while holidaying from New Zealand. Whitehaven was everything we wished in a B&B and more besides. An extremely clean well cared for home with all mod cons even a vegetarian breakfast! Simon is very friendly host most welcoming. Easy walk in to Whitby. You keep a good home Simon & Lane. We would recommend you to anyone 10 out of 10.
Cheers, Anne-Marie & Alf
