We stayed for one night b&b in room 1 we were pleasantly surprised at the size or the room and the quality and comfort of the bed and enjoyed a great nights sleep, the information folder in the room was very informative of local places to eat shop and places of interest to visit, we hadnt pre booked and dropped lucky finding such friendly hosts.
The breakfast was excelent with a chioce of fresh fruit yogourt various cereals and a large full english with fresh mushroom tomatoes and eggs that tasted fresh from the hen possible organic plenty of toast and pot of tea or coffe attention to detail in the breakfast room and the bedroom with smart elagant decoration a credit to Simon and Lane would definatly stay again if in the area.

We have just spent two nights at Whitehaven based on previous reviews on Trip Advisor. Can only confirm what we had read. Superb host and hostess, Simon and Lane, and we were really made to feel at home. Cannot recommend highly enough. Will certainly return.

Looking for a B&B close to all amenities, stumbled on the Whitehaven. Glad we did. Room 3 would not disgrace a five star hotel providing attractive colour co-ordinated en-suite accommodation. Owners Simon and Lane are friendly and helpful. Good choice at breakfast and well cooked. Highly Recommended.

A very warm welcome from Simon, Lane and their daughter plus a spotlessy clean room and an excellent breakfast. Indeed Simon made a special effort to cater for an alternative to the "full Yorkshire". We would stay at the Whitehaven again because it was very good in all respects and we would have little hesitation in recommending it.

We decided on the Whitehaven when looking for a long weekend for our wedding anniversary and it was everything we could have asked for. Simon and Lane were the friendliest people you could ever wish to meet and the guest house itself was very clean and comfortable. Simon's breakfasts really did give you a good start to the day . Both he and Lane always found time to chat and recommend places to go for meals etc. A lot of guest houses boast 'come as a guest leave as a friend' and in this case it is certainly true, we did feel as if we had made good friends.

We travelled from South Wales for the 60's festival and Simon and Lane made us feel welcome straight away , which is important because my wife has ongoing health problems and gets quite anxious at times . Lots of friendly chat at breakfast and whenever you saw Simon or Lane there was always time for quick hello and catch up . Our room was very good ,with a beautiful en suite and a view of Whitby Abbey . We would not hesitate to recommend the Whitehaven to anyone visiting Whitby .

We stopped at Whitehaven for the 3rd time at Spring Bank weekend and we brought some friends of ours along for the first time. Simon and Lane are always welcoming and like to have a chat which is really nice. We have stopped in the lilac room, the pink room and the beige room this time, which is really top class and all Simon's own work. We chose this guesthouse at random a few years ago from the internet and boy are we glad that we did. Unfortunately we may not being revisiting next year due to other holiday plans but like the terminator - we'll be back! Our friends were very impressed and may be returning in the near future now they have been. A top tip to anyone who has limited mobility, there is a taxi firm across the road (Harrisons) and we used them to take us into town and to pick us back up. Thanks again for a great break.
