Stayed here after out tent was damaged. Absolutely loved it. The family were lovely, the farmhouse is very atmospheric. Had a double room with a small en-suite, which delighted my 3 year old daughter. I had vegetrian cooked breakfast which was very nice. My daughter had fresh fruit, yoghurt and boiled egg, Victoria was on hand and attentive, but intrusively so, all the time. All in all a great place. Easy 5 minute drive into central Whitby. I even saw a calf being born from the bedroom window!

We ended up staying at Victoria's Farm House after our camper van broke down on our way to the fantastic Whitby Goth Weekend.
After driving up a long and bendy drive you arrive at a working farm with cows, chickens etc walking around and a fantastic 17th Century House.
We were warmly greeted by Victoria and shown to our room. The room was spacious, warm and came with the most amazing shower!
The bed was very comfy with really nice bedding. You get a TV/Video/DVD to chill out with in the evenings.
The nice thing with this B and B is that you become part of the family. They are all very friendly and wanting to chat. Tony will take you out on the farm too.
The breakfast is out of this world with a full spread of fresh fruit salad, fresh milk, cereal, toast, tea and coffee, juices, full cooked breakfast and to finish it off a warm freshly made scone. It set us up for the day ahead.
We loved it so much we have booked to come back next year for both the Goth weekends.
We would definitely recommend Victoria’s to all our friends! Marc, Kim, Freddie and Ruby

Thank you Victoria and Tony for a wonderful 3 days in your 17th Century farmhouse. We feel it was a privilege to stay on a centuries old family farm and to be welcomed by the family in such a hospitable way. Personally we liked mixing in with the family and eating our meals in their dining room and to be able to wander round the farm. The breakfast was superb and included a fresh fruit salad. The rooms were comfortable with nice views. The only minus we could see were that the stairs were a little difficult and would not be suitable for anybody disabled. The area is beautiful and Whitby is the sort of place you never get tired of as there is so much to see and do. From Julie, Roy, Lynn and Jim

Have just returned from 4 night stay at Victorias B&B and had a lovely time. The room was lovely and clean with nice views and a very comfy bed. With reference to the previous review Victoria was very welcoming (and always around) and both her and her family (plus the dogs - especially Rosie the sheepdog puppy) were very friendly. Yes, you do have to walk through their kitchen to get to your room, but this was quite nice as you could stop and have a chat with Victoria and her family and didn't feel at all intrusive The breakfasts were very good with a choice of cereals, fresh fruit plus a full english, there was also fresh baked scones on the table which you could take away for later.
All in all we had a very pleasant stay and it was very good value for money. Would go again and have already recommended it to someone

The cost for a night at Victoria's was reasonable as the farm is located just outside of Whitby and Staithes; Newholm; you definately would need a car to get around. The advantage is that you can book just the one night at the weekend here, unlike lots of the B&Bs in central Whitby. The room itself at Victoria's was spacious with a nice view from the Window; the beds were comfortable and you have a tv with dvd player in the room (which the host's children were kind enough to lend us dvds to watch on it!) However, the showeroom is very cramped and although there is a nice power shower, there just isn't enough room to support it. Do not expect to see much of your hosts at all; Victoria wasn't even around when we arrived to show us to our room or give us any information about Whitby or the surrounding areas. We asked for breakfast to be brought to our room the following day, as we were told the dining room would be the family's dining room and we felt instrusive. We also had to walk through the family's own private quarters in order to get to our room which we found quite uncomfortable and quite odd. Breakfast wasn't to be desired. We received plenty but the fruit wasn't fresh and the vegetarian alternative was poor. We had a lovley weekend on the East coast, however we would not stay at Victoria's again, nor would we recommend to stay here as we did not feel welcome at Victoria's and felt as though we were in the way.
