The cost for a night at Victoria's was reasonable as the farm is located just outside of Whitby and Staithes; Newholm; you definately would need a car to get around. The advantage is that you can book just the one night at the weekend here, unlike lots of the B&Bs in central Whitby. The room itself at Victoria's was spacious with a nice view from the Window; the beds were comfortable and you have a tv with dvd player in the room (which the host's children were kind enough to lend us dvds to watch on it!) However, the showeroom is very cramped and although there is a nice power shower, there just isn't enough room to support it. Do not expect to see much of your hosts at all; Victoria wasn't even around when we arrived to show us to our room or give us any information about Whitby or the surrounding areas. We asked for breakfast to be brought to our room the following day, as we were told the dining room would be the family's dining room and we felt instrusive. We also had to walk through the family's own private quarters in order to get to our room which we found quite uncomfortable and quite odd. Breakfast wasn't to be desired. We received plenty but the fruit wasn't fresh and the vegetarian alternative was poor. We had a lovley weekend on the East coast, however we would not stay at Victoria's again, nor would we recommend to stay here as we did not feel welcome at Victoria's and felt as though we were in the way.
